  —————————————-Detailed Itinerary————————————–

Day 1: Urumqi –罗布人村寨– Korla City (about 630KM, approximately 10 hours by car)

Accommodation: Korla City (Tianhong Hotel, Mingyue Crowne Plaza Hotel, Langang Business Hotel, or other hotels of the same standard)

The driver will pick you up from the hotel at the agreed time. After everyone has arrived, leave Urumqi and head south along the highway, passing through the narrow geographical corridor of the Gangou in the hinterland of the Tianshan Mountains. This area is arid and rain-scarce throughout the year, serving as the geographical boundary between northern and southern Xinjiang. The road conditions are good, but speed limits are strictly enforced.

First, arrive at the罗布人村寨 Scenic Area in Yuli County. Here, you can see the edge of the Taklamakan Desert, as well as the sparse Populus euphratica trees that grow alongside it, the Tarim River that disappears into the desert, and the mysterious Lop Nur people, with their primitive and rustic dwellings. The Lop Nur people who live here once made a living by fishing and hunting in Lop Nur. Later, due to the drying up of the lake and the encroachment of the desert, they were forced to migrate here and continue to make a living by fishing and hunting.

Return to Korla City, the pearl of southern Xinjiang, in the evening and check into the hotel.

  Reference Time:

  Depart from Urumqi at 08:00

At 13:00, pass through Toksun County and Heshuo County, and have lunch along the way as needed (1 hour)

At 14:00, continue to the罗布人村寨 by car (180 kilometers, approximately 3 hours)

Arrive at the罗布人村寨 Scenic Area at 17:00 to visit (3 hours)

Return to Korla City at 20:00 (80 kilometers, approximately 1.5 hours by car)

Arrive in Korla and check into the hotel at 21:30

  Friendly Reminder

  1. Today’s road conditions are very good, but speed limits are strictly enforced, and the driving time is relatively long, so be prepared mentally;

  2. The scenic area has many mosquitoes, and the climate is dry. Prepare for mosquito prevention before visiting, wear scarves, and bring along insect repellent, etc.

Day 2: Korla City – Populus euphratica Forest Park – Kuqa County (about 420KM, approximately 6.5 hours by car)

Accommodation: Kuqa County (Park Hyatt Boutique Hotel, Kuqa International Hotel, Kuqa Hotel, or other hotels of the same standard)

90% of China’s Populus euphratica trees grow in southern Xinjiang, mainly around the Tarim River. Today, we will explore the magical Populus euphratica trees, known for their "three thousand years" lifecycle. The Luntai County Tarim Populus euphratica National Forest Park, located in the middle reaches of the Tarim River on the northeastern edge of the Taklamakan Desert, is representative of the entire Tarim River basin and even Xinjiang in terms of area and quantity. The Populus euphratica trees, with their tenacious vitality, resist the arid climate. Whether it’s lush green leaves, cracked trunks, or withered branches, they all symbolize the power of life. Around October 15th each year, the leaves of the Populus euphratica trees naturally turn golden yellow, creating a magnificent scene reminiscent of "the city adorned with golden armor".

After visiting the Populus euphratica forest, return to Kuqa and check into the hotel.

  Reference Time:

09:00 Depart from Korla and head to the Luntai Poplar Forest Park (250 kilometers, driving for about 3.5 hours)

12:30 Have lunch at an appropriate time along the way (0.5 hours)

13:00 Arrive at the scenic area for free sightseeing and photo-taking (about 4 hours)

17:00 Head to Kuqa County (160 kilometers, driving for about 3 hours)

20:00 Arrive in Kuqa County and check in at the hotel

  Friendly Reminder

  1. The poplar tree is unique to the arid regions of Xinjiang. Its green leaves are vibrant, its yellow leaves are beautiful, and its withered leaves show resilience. The yellow leaf period is from mid-October to November each year, which may vary depending on the weather conditions. Please be aware.

Day 3: Kuqa County – Mysterious Grand Canyon of Tianshan – Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves – Aksu City (about 460KM, driving for about 7 hours)

Accommodation: Aksu City (Tianfu Hotel, Kaixuan Hotel, Jiahe Hotel, or other hotels of the same standard)

In the morning, head to the Mysterious Grand Canyon of Tianshan. The southern slope of Tianshan is arid with gravelly mountains, especially here where the mountains appear ocher-red. Under sunlight, the rock walls glow like they have been burned by flames, creating a spectacular sight. The entrance of the canyon is wide, and the bottom is flat. The winding paths inside lead to secluded and picturesque spots. The cliffs on both sides soar into the sky, creating countless shifting shadows as the sunlight moves, adding an exotic charm.

In the afternoon, visit the Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves. As an important grotto on the Silk Road where Buddhism spread eastward, it was once filled with Buddhist chants. A thousand years later, only remnants of grottoes and faded murals remain, evoking a sense of sadness. At the entrance, a sculpture of Kumarajiva, a famous monk, stands with slightly closed eyes, watching the footsteps of today’s visitors. Climbing the stairs leading to the cliff, one can see dozens of grotto sites distributed across the precipice, feeling the power of faith.

Stay overnight at a hotel in Aksu.

The movie ‘Guests from the Iceberg’ has made Pamir Plateau known to the world. Pamir means ‘the rooftop of the world’ in Tajik. During today’s visit, please avoid vigorous movements such as running and jumping to prevent altitude sickness and discomfort. The flat China-Pakistan Friendship Highway connects the plateau, rising all the way from Kashgar. As the altitude increases, the mountains also take on a towering appearance.布伦口 White Sand Lake, encountered along the way, reflects the sandy mountains across the lake like a mirror on windless days. Continue forward to explore Kalakuli Lake and Mount Muztagh, the ‘Father of Glaciers’. The tall Mount Muztagh, Kongur, Kongur Tobe, and other perpetual snow-capped mountains encircle Kalakuli Lake. On sunny days, the water reflects the connected snow-capped mountains. Standing by the lake and overlooking the towering snow-capped mountains while closely observing the calm lake adds a magical and beautiful color to this lake.

Return to Kashgar via the same route in the afternoon.

  Reference Time:

08:00 Depart from Kashgar for Kalakuli Lake (200 km, approximately 5 hours of driving)

13:30 Lunch along the way at an appropriate time (0.5 hours)

15:00 Return to Kashgar (200 km, approximately 5 hours of driving)

Please be aware of this possibility; If interrupted, alternative scenic spots will be arranged for visits according to the season.

Day 6: Kashgar City – Kashgar Old Town – Group Disbands

Kashgar is divided into the new city and the old city. The old city offers a glimpse of Kashgar’s character. Now, the Kashgar Old Town scenic area has been established. The streets and alleys in the old city are crisscrossed, and most of the houses are made of earth, brick, and wood.
