Please proceed to Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Upon arrival in Urumqi (5KM from the train station, with a driving time of about 10 minutes, or 25KM from the airport, with a driving time of about 45 minutes), local staff will arrange carpooling or pick-up services according to your flight or train arrival time and take you to the hotel where you will stay for check-in procedures. There will be no tour guide service on the same day.
Urumqi is the geographic center of Asia. As the saying goes, ‘You don’t know how big China is until you’ve seen Xinjiang’s vastness, and you don’t know how beautiful China is until you’ve seen Xinjiang’s beauty’. Xinjiang is world-famous for its melons, fruits, dances, treasures, and jade. The vast autonomous region covers one-sixth of China’s territory. It borders on the rippling Irtysh River and contrasts with the lush green valley scenery across the river, which can be described as ‘one river separates the two banks, with two different worlds’. Transfer to a shuttle bus at the Hemu ticket station to enter Hemu Village, a 20-kilometer, 30-minute drive along the winding Hemu Highway. Take in the beautiful scenery on both sides, including the forests whose colors change with the seasons. From 17:00-20:30, depart from Hemu Scenic Area and travel 110KM to [Kanas Scenic Area], a 2-hour drive. From 20:30-21:30, after dinner, take a leisurely stroll under the starry sky in the scenic area with friends and family. It’s so beautiful and peaceful, forgetting all work pressures and enjoying the fresh air brought by nature! (There is a large temperature difference between morning and night in the scenic area. Climb the 1068 steps along the wooden boardwalk and stand at the peak of Kalaate Mountain at an altitude of 2030 meters to take in a panoramic view of [Kanas Lake]. The vertical drop from the mountain top to the lake surface is over 600 meters, making it an excellent spot for observing the "lake monster". The scenery of the distant mountains varies with the seasons, bringing you different surprises each season. Spend 2.5 hours here (if it’s cloudy or raining, the activity will be changed to visiting the lakeside and wooden boardwalk). Depending on the situation, you may climb the Fish Viewing Terrace again after lunch.

This road segment has a speed limit for its entire length, and you will cross the Gongnaisi Daban. (Important note: There are two routes from Nalati to Bayinbrook, both with speed limits for their entire length. One route crosses the Gongnaisi Daban and takes 4 hours, while the other route takes the Kuche Daban and takes 2 hours. Weather conditions from June to September are unpredictable, and if it snows, the road may become icy and impassable. In such cases, there are two possibilities: first, arrival at the Bayinbrook scenic area may be delayed or departure in the morning may be earlier; second, if the road is impassable, the itinerary may be changed to return to the Yining Kazanqi scenic area.) Arrive at the Bayinbrook ticket station and take the scenic area shuttle bus to enter and play for 4 hours. Bayinbrook Grassland is a typical alpine grassland, alpine meadow, alpine marsh, and mountain meadow. The vast grassland is like a huge green carpet covering the entire earth. Take an electric cart along the wooden plank road to the observation deck. What appears before you is a winding little stream. This is the legendary Nine-Bend and Eighteen-Turn Stream (Bayinbrook has a changeable climate throughout the year with a large diurnal temperature variation. 13:30-18:00 After lunch, depart for Shanshan County Kumtag Desert Scenic Area, 170 km, 3-hour drive. [Kumtag Desert] means "sand mountain" in Uyghur. It is best to avoid the midday sun and experience the spectacular scene of "a lonely column of smoke rises straight into the sky, the long river and the setting sun make a perfect circle" as the sun sets. We can take photos here, ride camels, slide down the dunes, and even take a desert off-road vehicle for a surfing adventure. It would be fantastic to witness a magnificent sunset in the desert and take a photo that will amaze your friends on social media.
