Beitun/Kanas [one-way 240KM mountain road, approximately 5 hours by car]

  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  Jiadenyu

Early train pick-up (please wash up on the train in advance), head to Kanas scenic area after breakfast. Along the way, visit the [Colorful Beach] (complimentary). The northern shore of Colorful Beach features undulating hills and ever-changing colors, formed by the combined effects of erosion from swift rivers and strong winds. Continue onward. Arrive at the Jiadenyu Ticket Station and transfer to a shuttle bus to enter the [Kanas National Geological Park] (including first-entry ticket and round-trip shuttle bus, approximately 3 hours of sightseeing). Along the Kanas River, enjoy the scenery of the Siberian larch primitive forest, birch forest, Shenxianwan, Wolongwan, Moon Bay, and Yaze Lake. Due to intense glacial erosion since the early Quaternary period, the ancient glacial landforms indicate that there were three relatively obvious ice ages here. Kanas Lake was formed by the excavation of a huge composite valley glacier during the second major ice age. At that time, the glacier was several kilometers long and about 200-500 meters thick. The glacier tongue stabilized at the lake mouth and was in equilibrium, gradually accumulating a terminal moraine composed of multiple ridges and depressions at the Kanas Lake mouth,宽约1 kilometer and 50-70 meters high. Outside, there is a ridge about 20 meters high with an arcuate convex shape, and inside, it connects with the lake surface via a slope. The terminal moraine is uneven and composed of mixed materials such as coarse and fine glacial boulders, sand, and clay. Later, due to warming climates, the glacier retreated rapidly, forming the current Kanas Lake. In the scenic area, you can optionally participate in entertainment activities at your own expense, such as taking a Kanas cruise boat [120 yuan/person, self-paid] to enter the depths of the lake, where you can see the miracle of the "kilometer-long deadwood dike"; you can also enter the "wooden house world" of Kanas Village and navigate through the unique wooden houses. Visit a Tuwa family [home visit: 100 yuan/person, complimentary] to taste mare’s milk wine, drink butter tea, and listen to the melodious sound of the "Sudi", experiencing the unique Altay grassland culture. Later, take the shuttle bus back to Jiadenyu and check into the hotel.

  Jiadengyu/Hemu

  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  Hemu

Early in the morning, take the shuttle bus again to Kanas Scenic Area. You can board the direct bus to the Fish Viewing Pavilion (120 yuan/person, at your own expense) to enjoy a panoramic view of Kanas. If the weather clears up after the rain, you may sometimes see the Kanas sea of clouds and Buddha’s light. Passing by the Hundred Flowers Garden, you will be overwhelmed by the beautiful sight of colorful wildflowers everywhere. Overlooking Kanas Lake, explore the mystery of the lake monster, and gaze at Friendship Peak in the distance. Climbing the Fish Viewing Pavilion is the exclamation mark at the end of your Kanas travel itinerary. Without climbing the Fish Viewing Pavilion, you cannot fully appreciate the beauty of Kanas; nor can you comprehend the true meaning of life. Take the shuttle bus back to Jiadengyu. After lunch in Jiadengyu, take a car to Hemu Scenic Area, which is 80 kilometers away and takes about 2 hours to drive (the scenic area has a speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour for safety reasons). The beautiful scenery along the way is endless, including birch forests, vast grasslands, occasionally hidden beautiful river bends, and friendly and enthusiastic Kazakh and Tuwa herdsmen. Upon arrival at Hemu Scenic Area, Hemu Village is a village at the northern end of Shangshanruoshui in western China. The Tuwa people, who maintain the complete ethnic traditions of Shangshanruoshui, live together here in Hemu Village – one of the famous Tuwa villages and also the farthest and largest of the only three remaining Tuwa villages (Hemu Village, Kanas Village, and Baihaba Village). Hemu boasts natural and primitive mountain scenery with unique beauty. The Hemu River flows from northeast to southwest, and the primitive village is harmoniously integrated with the vast grassland. When you arrive in Hemu Village, the first thing that comes into your sight is the log cabins and flocks of herds, which form a unique natural and cultural landscape with snow-capped peaks, forests, meadows, blue sky, and white clouds. The significance of these log cabins is that they have become the symbol of the Tuwa people. Most of the log cabins are buried in the soil to withstand the severe cold during the nearly half-year-long snow-blocked period, appearing particularly primitive and rustic, and bearing the traditional characteristics of nomadic peoples. Overnight stay in Hemu.
