I. How to book the New Oriental Express?
The New Oriental Express is a luxury tourist train product jointly launched by the Urumqi Railway Bureau and travel agencies. You need to make reservations through the official travel agency channels designated by the railway bureau. Due to the limited number of compartments, especially the Gold Diamond and Presidential suites, which are difficult to obtain tickets, it is recommended that you call the consultation hotline of the New Oriental Express Train Department: Guo Jing 181 3962 2229, select a suitable tour date according to your travel date, and pay the train ticket deposit first, with the balance to be settled 30 days before departure.
II. Where are the starting and ending points of the New Oriental Express?
Currently, the New Oriental Express’s Xinjiang tourist trains mainly cover the panoramic views of northern and southern Xinjiang, as well as routes in southern Xinjiang. The starting and ending points of all trains are set at Urumqi Station. You need to arrive in Urumqi by yourself, and we will arrange pick-up services uniformly. From May to September, the New Oriental Express mainly operates the North-South Xinjiang Loop product; while from October to April of the next year, it mainly launches the Southern Xinjiang Loop product.
Regarding the internal environment of the New Oriental Express luxury tourist train, here are the detailed introductions: Train Formation and Configuration: The New Oriental Express [Gold Diamond + Blue Diamond] series formation includes 8 Gold Diamond carriages, 5 Blue Diamond carriages, 1 bar carriage, and 2 dining cars. The New Oriental Express [Silver Diamond + Blue Diamond] series formation includes 7 Silver Diamond carriages, 5 Blue Diamond carriages, 1 bar carriage, and 2 dining cars.
Please note that the train formation may vary for different tour dates, with combinations of Gold Diamond, Blue Diamond, President carriages, etc., as well as different formations for dining cars and leisure bar carriages.
Each carriage is equipped with a dedicated attendant who provides paid laundry services. If needed, please ask the attendant for a laundry tag and fill in the relevant information. The attendant will handle your laundry and return it to your compartment after cleaning.
For safety reasons, the windows in the carriages cannot be opened. Smoking is prohibited throughout the train. The air conditioning ventilation and temperature adjustment in the room need to be assisted by the attendants.
The executive bar carriage provides services such as beverages, snacks, and coffee, which you can choose to purchase at a fee.
The music dining car has tables for four people, so if you are traveling with two people, you will need to share a table.
The luxury Blue Diamond carriages are equipped with public shower rooms, and a shower schedule will be formulated to ensure rotation. It is recommended that you control your shower time to 8-10 minutes.
Plastic slippers are provided on the train (it is recommended that you bring your own), along with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel (not individually packaged). In order to fulfill the concept of low-carbon environmental protection, one bath towel is provided for the entire journey (it is recommended that you bring your own). The attendants will clean and tidy up your room every day.
