Kanas Autumn In-depth Photography Tour (suitable for September and October)
Autumn in Kanas is a romantic season, known as "God’s palette" by the world. Gold and fire red are casually splashed across forests, with snowy mountain peaks in the distance and the orderly scattered homes of the Tuwa people nearby! Leisurely wandering cattle and sheep, white yurts with curling smoke, casually walking Kazakh girls, graceful birch trees symbolizing love, and hastily migrating herds — different angles, different scenery, and a different tour guide will bring you a unique photography journey!

But these autumn scenes in Xinjiang

The palace-like autumn scenery of northern Xinjiang
You must not miss it
"If autumn has ten points of beauty, nine must be in Xinjiang"
At the end of September, Kanas is filled with vibrant colors. How should the itinerary be arranged, and how can one fully appreciate the scenery of this time of year?
A reasonable itinerary has a significant impact on the travel experience. Based on my annual visits, I plan to arrange my itinerary like this this year.
My principle is that the itinerary should not be too rushed. Everyone knows that Xinjiang is vast, and a rushed itinerary means less time to explore attractions. Coming all the way to Xinjiang just to check in would be disappointing! The time spent at each attraction should match the best viewing period. You may not be a professional photographer, but seeing the scenery should be everyone’s expectation!
1. China’s Autumn Scenery VS Unparalleled Herdsmen Migration
The autumn in Kanas has colors beyond imagination, as if they came from another planet. Marvel at nature’s creation; the hues of northern Xinjiang cannot be easily described in words. When herds of cows and sheep migrate and change pastures amidst breathtaking scenery, is your camera ready to capture these awe-inspiring scenes? The golden autumn season is the time for Kazakh herdsmen to change pastures, and such a sight can only be seen in Xinjiang.
2. Baihaba Sunrise VS Hemu Sunrise – Who is the Forgotten Village
Exclusively arranged to stay one night each in Baihaba Scenic Area and Hemu Scenic Area. Baihaba is known as the “First Village in Northwest China”, and Hemu is known as the “Paradise for Photographers”. Wake up early to take photos of the sunrise in Baihaba and Hemu. In the words of previous photographers: After seeing the sunrise in Hemu, I was moved to tears… Only in Xinjiang can such an exclamation be made!
3. Colorful Beach Sunset VS Ghost Town Sunset – A Duel Between the Wind City and Yardang Landform
The stunning moments of Colorful Beach and Urho Ghost Town are at sunset. The sunset makes Colorful Beach even more mysterious, and the sunset afterglow of Ghost Town (red clouds) is definitely perfect for taking great photos… These stunning and magnificent wonders can only be perfectly captured at the right time and angle. Our itinerary arrangements fully consider the timing of photography, so that your trip to Xinjiang will leave no regrets.
4. China’s Kanas Lake VS The Gorgeous Autumn Colors of Koktokay
Fish Viewing Terrace is an excellent spot to view the panoramic view of Kanas Lake. We arrange to visit in the morning, leisurely walking up to Fish Viewing Terrace. The scenery changes along the way, and many times you need to hold your breath or scream loudly! The guide will lead everyone to hike between Moon Bay and Wolong Bay, enjoying the beautiful scenery all the way. The water of Koktokay is clear and bottomless, with unpredictable color changes among the colorful tree shades around!
5. Weather-beaten and Immortal Poplar Forest VS Romantic Birch Forest – An Epic Love
The desert hero with “a thousand years of life without death, a thousand years of death without falling, a thousand years of falling without decay” – the poplar tree, appears even more weather-beaten and tall in September. And the forest maiden – the birch forest, with its graceful figure and golden leaves, is so romantic. How can Xinjiang possess so many miracles at the same time?
6. Romantic Lodging – Tuwa Log Cabin
Baihaba and Hemu, we will spend time in primitive log cabins. If it’s sunny, fall asleep under the starry sky and watch the sunrise and sunset. Strolling around in the fairy tale-like scenery surrounded by clouds, with herds of cattle and sheep and herdsmen moving to new pastures, how delightful it is.
7. Special Cuisine and Delicious Fruit Feast
Xinjiang is famous for its various fruits, which is a sweet feast that must not be missed. There are also roast whole sheep, mutton skewers, pilaf, Na Ren noodles, laghman noodles, roast meat, roast stuffed buns, nang bread, meat-stuffed nang, and countless other delicacies. A trip with taste buds enjoyment is perfect.
