"As the weather gets hotter, tourism in Turpan is also getting more popular. On May 31st alone, nearly 2,000 tourists from three special trains from Beijing, Hubei, and Zhejiang were received." On June 16th, An Jinqiang, Director of the Turpan City Tourism Bureau, said that Turpan tourism has shown a strong growth trend since the beginning of this year. From January to May this year, the city received a total of 3.6973 million tourists from both inside and outside Xinjiang, an increase of 102.44% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, Turpan has set a new record for receiving tourism special trains this year: On April 24th, Turpan welcomed its first tourism special train. As of May 31st, it has received 28 tourism special trains and welcomed more than 16,000 tourists. The number of special trains has increased by 180% year-on-year, and the number of接待has increased by 136% year-on-year.
Xinjiang is rich in tourism resources with prominent characteristics, which is very attractive to mainland tourists. In recent years, the Xinjiang tourism department has closely cooperated with the railway department to meet market demand. Based on the tourism season and passenger flow changes, they have designed special tourism trains with distinct characteristics for different times of the year. At the same time, themed holiday tourism trains have been operated for different groups, and a special train product system suitable for the integration of Xinjiang railways and tourism has been established. They actively guide tourist flow into Xinjiang. The abundant special tourism train products have made Xinjiang railways the focus of national attention. "Traveling to Xinjiang by Train" is not only a new tourism form but also a popular and recognized tourism brand.
The number of special trains has increased significantly this year, and scenic areas have also increased their attention to special train tourists. An Jinqiang said, "Turpan City has taken measures for special train tourists, such as holding welcome ceremonies, giving small souvenirs, and implementing priority entry."
Soon, multiple special trains will arrive in Xinjiang to embark on beautiful scenic journeys.
This July, August, and September, Tianjin will continuously operate tourism special trains to fulfill tourists’ wishes of "traveling to Xinjiang by train".

8 Nights and 9 Days Itinerary Arrangement of Damei Xinjiang Special Train
D1 Various Locations – Urumqi – Beitun
After arriving in Urumqi from all over the country, take a short rest and gather at Urumqi Station (High-speed Railway Station). At around 9:00 pm, take the Damei Xinjiang Special Train to Beitun City, where Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps was first settled.
D2 Beitun – Kanas
Arrive at Beitun Railway Station at 7:30 am, pass through Beitun, an important town of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and head to Burqin, a riverside town with Russian flavor, for breakfast. After breakfast, depart for Kanas scenic area. Along the way, you will pass through the barren desert landscape of Baisha Mountain and the picturesque Aganggaiti Grassland. Arrive at Jiadenyu Living Area in Kanas scenic area for lunch. After lunch, transfer to the scenic area shuttle bus to enter [Kanas Scenic Area] (entrance ticket and shuttle bus are included for two entries). Along the Kanas River, enjoy the sights of the primitive Siberian larch forest, birch forest scenery, Shenxian Bay, Wolong Bay, Moon Bay, and Yaze Lake. The final stop of this shuttle bus segment is the "Transfer Center", and then return to Jiadenyu. After dinner, check in to a hotel in Jiadenyu.
D3 Kanas – Hemu
After breakfast, re-enter the Kanas scenic area to enjoy the morning glow and foggy scenery of Kanas Lake,… After lunch, return to Jiadenyu and take the shuttle bus to the [Hemu Scenic Area], known as "God’s Private Reserve" (entrance ticket and shuttle bus included). The scenery along the way is endless, with dense Birch forests sometimes hiding winding streams, and sometimes broad and majestic rapids rushing by. Upon arrival at the Hemu village, check into the log cabin hotel, then visit the beauty of the Hemu River, take a leisurely stroll in the Birch forest, climb up the Hadeng platform to overlook the ancient Hemu village, and immerse yourself in the tranquility and leisureliness. Have dinner at the hotel according to the notified gathering time. After dinner, free activities, enjoy the dazzling starry sky above the ancient Hemu village.
D4 Hemu – Beitun – Yining
Get up early to enjoy the sunrise, then take the Hemu shuttle bus back to Jiadenyu for lunch. After lunch, take a tourist bus back to Burqin County, passing through the colorful fairy tale world and the world’s first beach – [Wucaitan] (entrance ticket and excess mileage fare included), with Yadan wind erosion landforms to visit. Then arrive in Beitun and take the tourist train to Yining.
D5 Beitun – Yining
Around 10:00 a.m., take the Beautiful Xinjiang Train from Beitun to the border flower city of Yining, enjoying the scenery of Mount Tianshan along the way. Arrive in Yining around 9:26 p.m. and check into the hotel.
D6 Yining – Bayinbuluke – Nalati
After breakfast, take a car to Bayinbuluke and visit China’s second-largest grassland, [Bayinbuluke Grassland] (entrance ticket and shuttle bus included). Visit the Swan Protection Area – Swan Lake, which is a high-mountain wetland lake surrounded by continuous snowy peaks, forming a natural barrier for Swan Lake. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the nine-bend Kaidu River, which is 516 kilometers long and has up to 1,142 bends. It can truly be said, "The winding water flows east, taking thousands of turns to reach its end." (Visiting time is about 3 hours). Afterwards, proceed to Nalati and check into the hotel.
D7 Nalati – Yining
After breakfast, take a tourist bus to Nalati, one of the four major alpine valley grasslands in the world – [National AAAAA Scenic Area Nalati] (entrance ticket included). Along the way, the mountains are adorned with flowers, peaks are danced by butterflies, and dots of tents can be seen. You can also catch a glimpse of small patches of Populus euphratica forests, feeling their resilient life force and unyielding demeanor. Pass by the Wusu Ancient Tombs; along the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides of the Gongnais Valley. Arrive in Nalati Town for lunch. After lunch, take the scenic area’s [Valley Grassland Shuttle Bus] (fare included) to the Nalati scenic area to experience the Kazakh folk customs (visiting time is about 3.5 hours, including the time to enter and exit the scenic area with the valley shuttle bus). You can take optional tours within the scenic area, such as sightseeing cars, horse riding, tandem bicycles, grassland motorcycles, etc., to feel the charm of the grassland. Afterwards, take a car to Yining and check into the hotel.
D8 Yining — Sayram Lake — Horgos Port — Yining — Urumqi
After breakfast, pass by Guozigou Bridge in Fruit Valley, known as the first scenic spot in Yili. View the [Asia’s largest span mountain cable-stayed bridge] from the car (cannot stop due to traffic reasons). Take an air-conditioned tourist bus to the Pearl Beyond the Great Wall – the mysterious and beautiful alpine lake – [Sayram Lake] (ticket included). Take a bus to the west-of-lake scenic area (complimentary lake tour fee) for a sightseeing tour of the lake area or free activities for about 100 minutes. After lunch, visit [Horgos Port], one of China’s three major land trade ports. Learn about the distribution of aromatic plants and products in the world and other aromatic cultures. Yili is the national lavender base, where you can learn more about lavender up close and also take photos with the sea of flowers and colorful flower bands (free activities for about 50 minutes). Take a bus back to Yining and take the train to Urumqi.
D9 Urumqi — Various cities
Arrive at Urumqi Station in the morning, ending your pleasant journey and returning to beautiful Urumqi! End of the pleasant itinerary.

D1: Various cities — Urumqi — Beitun (one-way approximately 700 kilometers, about 12 hours)
Arrive in Urumqi from all over the country, gather at Urumqi Station (High-speed Railway Station) [gathering time is 19:00, for reference only, staff will notify you of the exact gathering time in advance.] In the evening, take the Northern Xinjiang Round-trip Train to Beitun City, where the Corps reclaims land.

D2: Beitun – (one-way car ride of about 300 km, about 4 hours) Kanas
Arrive around 8 am, depart for Kanas Scenic Area after breakfast. Pass through the barren desert landscape – White Sand Mountain, and the picturesque Aganggaiti Grassland. Arrive at the Jiadengyu living area in Kanas Scenic Area for lunch at noon. After lunch, transfer to the scenic area shuttle bus to enter [Kanas Scenic Area] (ticket and second entry of the shuttle bus are included). Take a sightseeing tour along the Kanas River, enjoying the primitive forest of Siberian larch, birch forest scenery, Shenxianwan, Wolongwan, Moon Bay, and Yazehu. The final stop of this shuttle bus segment is the ‘Transfer Center’, then return to Jiadengyu. After dinner, check in at the hotel in Jiadengyu.

D4: Beitun/Yining
After breakfast at 6:30 am, head to Beitun City Railway Station. At 9:30, take the Great Beauty of Xinjiang special train to Yining City. Arrive in Beitun City around 22:00 and check in at the hotel.

Along the way, you will see colorful mountain flowers, butterflies fluttering around peaks, and scattered tents, as well as small patches of diversifolia poplar forests, experiencing the tenacious life and unyielding grace of diversifolia poplar. Pass by the Wusu Ancient Tombs; enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides of the Gongnais Valley along the way. Arrive in Nalati Town for lunch, and after lunch, take the scenic area’s [River Valley Grassland Shuttle Bus] (fare included) to the Nalati scenic area to experience Kazakh folk customs (visit duration is about 3.5 hours, including the time to enter and exit the scenic area by river valley shuttle bus). After breakfast, pass by the Fruit Valley Bridge in Qigou, known as the First Scenic Spot of Yili, and take a coach tour of [Asia’s Largest Span Mountain Cable-Stayed Bridge] (cannot stop due to traffic). Take an air-conditioned tourist coach to the mysterious and beautiful alpine lake, the Pearl Beyond the Great Wall – [Sayram Lake] (entrance fee included), and travel to the west side of the lake (complimentary lake circuit bus fee) for lake area sightseeing or free activities for about 100 minutes. After lunch, visit Horgos Port, one of China’s three major land trade ports, and take photos at the gate of the country. This scenic area is a military strategic location, and visits to the boundary monument and duty-free zone are not arranged. Tourists can shop in the free trade market in front of the port on their own (this attraction is complimentary and does not include entry into the country gate). Afterwards, visit the [Lavender Manor] to learn about the distribution of aromatic plants worldwide and aroma culture and products. Yili is the national lavender base, where you can get a closer look at lavender and even take photos with the flower sea and colorful flower belts (free activity and visit for about 50 minutes). Take a coach back to Yining City and take the Northern Xinjiang Circular Train in the evening to return to Urumqi.

Please arrive at Urumqi Station (New Station North Plaza) by 19:00 and enter from the North Entrance, then take the elevator to the second floor. The temperature in the mountains is lower in the morning and evening, so please bring cold-weather clothing. Remember to bring along your camera, umbrella, and other necessary items. When the group returns, please gather at the hotel parking lot at the designated time as notified by the tour guide.
