Xinjiang possesses both beautiful scenery and rich culture, making it an interesting destination for any traveler. The vast and diverse landscape here hosts both vitality and desolation. There are apricot blossoms blooming all over the mountains, vast grassland scenery, golden birch forests, as well as boundless desert landscapes, blazing hot Flaming Mountains, and desolate and magnificent Yardang landforms.
The ancient Silk Road, once bustling, has endowed it with rich and profound cultural heritage. Turpan, Hami, Kashgar, Kuqa, Hotan, etc., were all important towns on the once prosperous route. The Flaming Mountains
The Flaming Mountains, known as ‘Kezil Tag’ in Uyghur, mean ‘Red Mountain’. It was once called ‘Volcano’ due to its intense heat.
Due to the widely known story from ‘Journey to the West’ where Sun Wukong borrowed the Banana Leaf Fan three times to extinguish the flames of the Flaming Mountains, the Flaming Mountains have become famous worldwide. The Flaming Mountains range runs east-west, starting from Lankan Liusha River in Shanshan County in the east and ending at Taoer Valley in Turpan in the west, spanning 100km.

Tianshan Tianchi
Tianshan Tianchi, anciently known as ‘Yaochi’, is a crescent-shaped lake on the north side of Mount Bogd in the Tianshan Mountains. It is a famous tourist attraction in Xinjiang.
Grape Valley
Located at the western end of the Flaming Mountains, this 8km-long valley is filled with endless orchards and vineyards due to the presence of a small stream flowing through it.
