I. How to book the New Oriental Express?
The New Oriental Express is a luxury tourist train product jointly launched by the Urumqi Railway Bureau and travel agencies. You need to make reservations through the official travel agency channels specified by the railway bureau. Due to the limited number of compartments, especially the hard-to-get tickets for Gold Diamond and President suites, we recommend calling the consultation hotline of the New Oriental Express Special Train Department: Guo Jing 181 3962 2229. Choose a suitable tour date according to your travel date, and pay the train ticket deposit first, with the balance to be settled 30 days before departure.
II. Where are the starting and ending points of the New Oriental Express?
Currently, the New Oriental Express’s Xinjiang tourist trains mainly cover the panoramic views of northern and southern Xinjiang, as well as routes focused on southern Xinjiang. The starting and ending points of all trains are set at Urumqi Station. You need to arrive in Urumqi by yourself, and we will arrange unified pick-up services. From May to September, the New Oriental Express mainly operates products on the northern and southern Xinjiang loop route; while from October to April of the next year, it mainly launches products on the southern Xinjiang loop route.
Regarding the internal environment of the New Oriental Express luxury tourist train, here are the detailed introductions: Train marshaling and configuration: The New Oriental Express [Gold Diamond + Blue Diamond] series includes 8 Gold Diamond carriages, 5 Blue Diamond carriages, 1 bar carriage, and 2 dining cars. The New Oriental Express [Silver Diamond + Blue Diamond] series includes 7 Silver Diamond carriages, 5 Blue Diamond carriages, 1 bar carriage, and 2 dining cars.
Please note that the train marshaling for different tour dates may vary, with combinations of Gold Diamond, Blue Diamond, President carriages, as well as different marshaling methods for dining cars and leisure bar carriages.
Each carriage is equipped with a dedicated attendant who provides paid laundry services. If needed, please ask the attendant for a laundry tag and fill in the relevant information. The attendant will handle your laundry and return it to your compartment after cleaning.
For safety reasons, the windows in the carriages cannot be opened. Smoking is prohibited throughout the train. The air conditioning ventilation and temperature adjustment in the rooms need to be assisted by the attendants.
The executive bar carriage provides services such as beverages, snacks, and coffee, which you can choose to purchase at a fee.
The music dining car has tables for four people. If you are traveling with two people, you will need to share a table.
The luxury Blue Diamond carriages are equipped with public showers, and a shower schedule will be formulated to ensure rotation. We recommend controlling your shower time to 8-10 minutes.
Plastic slippers are provided on the train (we recommend bringing your own). Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (not individually packaged) are also available. To fulfill the low-carbon and environmentally friendly concept, only one bath towel is provided for the entire journey (we recommend bringing your own). The attendants will clean and tidy up your room every day.
Each music dining car can accommodate about 48 people dining simultaneously. Therefore, when dining on the train, we will formulate dining times and batches, and notify you in advance. Please understand and cooperate with our arrangements.
