The Magnificent South Xinjiang
The regret of life is not having been to Xinjiang. The greatest fortune in life is encountering the beautiful scenery of Xinjiang! Life is not complete without visiting Xinjiang!
Most of the world’s Populus euphratica grow in China, and more than 90% of China’s Populus euphratica grow in the Tarim River Basin in Xinjiang.
Tarim Populus euphratica Forest Scenic Area integrates Tarim River natural landscapes, Populus euphratica landscapes, and desert landscapes.
The Populus euphratica forest is always full of vitality.
Populus euphratica trees live for a thousand years without dying; when they die, they stand for another thousand years without falling; when they fall, they remain undecayed for another thousand years. They stand for a thousand years and are lonely for another thousand years!
Xinjiang Luntai Populus euphratica Forest Park is one of China’s ten most beautiful forests. Large areas of Populus euphratica forests are integrated with rivers, deserts, Gobi, oases, sand lakes, ancient roads, and desert grasslands.
In arid and saline-alkali lands, it retains its charming posture, enduring winds and being buried by sand, standing firmly in the world between heaven and earth. Dreaming for a thousand years, it adheres to its original intentions with admirable perseverance. In deep autumn, golden Populus euphratica decorates both banks of the Tarim River like a picturesque and splendid painting.
The forests are tinged with color, spreading to the horizon. The golden scene before you is like entering a fairy tale world of ultimate beauty and purity. Walking through the Populus euphratica forest is like being in a secluded and breathtaking fairyland, too beautiful to be real.
Life is burning freely in every Populus euphratica tree!
Firstly, there is the Lop Nur Village in Yuli County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, which is close to the Tarim River and Taklamakan Desert. The Taklamakan Desert is surrounded by mountains on all sides, filled with fantastical and mysterious colors.
The Tarim River has numerous river branches. The middle section is broad and vast, with rippling waters. At the end of the river branches, the waterways narrow, forming channels with still waters as flat as a mirror. The Populus euphratica forests on both sides of the river branches, together with the blue sky and white clouds, are reflected in the water, creating an image even clearer and more realistic than a mirror, amazing the tourists.
At the end of the river branches are reed marshes and Populus euphratica-Tamarix dunes. The white reeds and Populus euphratica-Tamarix dunes glow with an attractive silvery white light under backlight; cows and sheep graze leisurely in the Tamarix sand dunes.
Looking out from the top of the dune, the Populus euphratica forest stretches as far as the eye can see.
The second viewing point for the aquatic Populus euphratica forest is the Red Sea Park in Bachu County, Aksu Prefecture.
The park is equipped with water pavilions, lake pavilions, electric cars, tourist boats, and carriages for river sightseeing. In the river branches, various kinds of waterbirds and rare birds fly and sing in flocks. The reflections of trees in the lake are clear, the environment is peaceful, and the air is fresh. Strolling along the lakeside is refreshing; the Populus euphratica forests on both sides of the river branches, a few ducks in the lake, tourist boats, together with the blue sky and white clouds reflected in the water, create an image even clearer and more realistic than a mirror, amazing the tourists; while Uyghur girls strolling and taking photos on the wooden bridge add a beautiful scenery.
