Luntai Tarim Populus Euphratica National Forest Park is located in the middle reaches of the Tarim River on the northeastern edge of the Taklamakan Desert. In terms of area and quantity, it represents the entire Tarim River basin and even Xinjiang. Populus euphratica, with its tenacious vitality, resists the arid climate. Whether it is lush green leaves, cracked tree trunks, or dried branches, they all symbolize the power of life. Around October 15th each year, the leaves of Populus euphratica naturally turn golden yellow, creating a magnificent scene like "the whole city is covered with golden armor".

The southern slope of Tianshan Mountain is made of arid sandstone, especially here where the mountains are ochre, and under sunlight, the rock walls appear as if they are burning red, creating a spectacular view. The entrance of the canyon is spacious, the bottom is flat, and the winding paths inside lead to secluded spots. The cliffs on both sides reach the sky, and the moving sunlight casts various shadows, adding an exotic charm.

　　From 12:00 to 14:00, depart for the Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves.

　　From 14:00 to 16:00 in the afternoon, visit the [Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves]. As an important grotto on the Silk Road for the eastward spread of Buddhism, it was once filled with Buddhist chants. A thousand years later, only remnants of grottoes and faded murals remain, which evoke a sense of sadness. The flat China-Pakistan Friendship Highway connects the plateau, rising all the way from Kashgar. As the altitude increases, the mountains also rise to meet the sky.

Locally known as the Wacha Highway, this winding mountain road has over 600 turns and a total length of 75 kilometers, with an altitude of approximately 4,100 meters. The perfect combination of black pavement and earth-colored mountain bodies, coupled with the distant snowy mountains in the background, belongs solely to the Pamir Plateau.

　　12:00-13:00 After lunch, return to Kashgar city.

　　13:00-22:30 Along the China-Pakistan Friendship Highway, descending from the Pamir Plateau, we can see wild yak in the mountains and take a distant view of Kongur Tobe Peak and Mount Muztagh Ata. Along the way, we will visit Karakul Lake and overlook the vastness and changing colors of the lake while posing to our heart’s content. The tall and eternal snow-capped mountains such as Mount Muztagh Ata, Kongur Peak, and Kongur Tobe Peak surround Karakul Lake. On sunny days, the water reflects the connected snow-capped mountains. Standing by the lake and looking out at the towering snow-capped mountains, and observing the calm lake up close, adds a magical and beautiful color to this lake.
