The trees of Xinjiang, on the vast grasslands, each lives freely as a tree should.
You see, Ili is the south of the Great Wall with a Jiangnan flavor. Yining, where Uyghurs have taken root and borne fruit. Their yards fascinated me, like the fairyland Alice had always dreamed of. The tall jujube trees were heavy with fruit, the rose trellises were not yet in decay, and dogs lay under the grapevines, lazily reminiscing about the taste of summer.
Sayram Lake: A Cold Pearl In the dusk light, wild winds churned up huge waves, and the road flags fluttered loudly in the wind. On the highway, the glinting blue pool had turned into a dark and angry sea. The afterglow was as beautiful as a painting, with a magnificent sunset blending layers of warm colors on the clouds. Further away, the dark blue sky and sea merged into an extremely fine line at the horizon, and the shadows of the mountains hid in the inky twilight. In Kanas Village, I truly understood this truth: In the face of nature, never be presumptuous—let us keep our expectations until we meet.
