Lijiang
Lijiang City is located at the junction of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with a higher terrain in the northwest and lower terrain in the southeast. The highest point is the main peak of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, with altitudes generally above 2,000 meters. It has a low-latitude warm temperate plateau mountain monsoon climate. The city is rich in water resources and has a diverse range of flora and fauna. It is a key forest area in Yunnan Province and one of China’s hydropower bases for west-to-east power transmission.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is located about 15 kilometers north of Lijiang City, stretching 35 kilometers north to south and 25 kilometers east to west. The snow-capped mountain covers an area of 960 square kilometers, with a scenic area of 263 square kilometers. It is famous for its spring snow and green snow glaciers, and is a national scenic area, provincial nature reserve, and provincial tourism development zone. Attractions within the area include Glacier Park, Spruce Meadow, Ganhaizi, Yak Meadow, and the Ten Thousand Camellia Trees at Yufeng Temple.
Laojun Mountain Scenic Area
Laojun Mountain Scenic Area is located at the junction of three national scenic areas: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas, and Cangshan-Erhai. It is an important part of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area. This scenic area mainly consists of the 99 Dragon Ponds of Laojun Mountain, Jinshan and Yuhu Lakes of Jinsichang, the Danxia landform of Liming Mele, the Xinzhu Natural Alpine Botanical Garden, and other areas (attractions), covering a total area of 715 square kilometers.
Lijiang Old Town
Lijiang Old Town is a national-level historic and cultural city, founded in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty (late 13th century AD). Situated in the middle of the Lijiang Basin, it is one of China’s most intact ancient towns with a Naxi style. Located on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau at an altitude of 2,416 meters, the town covers an area of 3.8 square kilometers. In December 1997, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List by the World Heritage Committee.
Jinsha River
Jinsha River is represented by the breathtaking, magnificent, and spectacular Tiger Leaping Gorge landscape, with attractions such as the ‘First Bend of the Yangtze River’, Shigu Town, and Baoshan Stone City.
Lugu Lake is located at an altitude of 2,680 meters above sea level, with an area of over 50 square kilometers. The average depth of the lake is 45 meters, with a maximum depth of 93 meters. The water is clear and azure, with a visibility of 12-14 meters. It is one of China’s deepest freshwater lakes.
