Speaking of lavender, Huocheng County in Yili, Xinjiang, is truly a lavender city. It is home to large, high-density lavender fields. Every June to August, large areas of lavender bloom in the farmland on the outskirts of Huocheng County, creating a very romantic purple countryside and attracting a large number of tourists for photography and visits. Most people visit Huocheng to see lavender by self-driving or chartering a car. As you pass by the farmland along the road, you can stop and take photos of the lavender fields you like whenever you want.

If you want to gain a deeper understanding of lavender and essential oils, you can visit the Princess Jieyou Lavender Garden in Qingshuihe Development Zone. There is a Lavender Museum within the garden. Additionally, there are colorful flower fields combined with various types of flowers and vast purple lavender fields, which are also great spots for photography. If you don’t plan to visit the lavender garden and only want to take photos at farms, a popular location is near the 65th Regiment (between Huocheng County Town and Qingshuihe Town, beside G218 Highway). There are many farms here growing lavender, which is also a popular spot for tourists to take photos of lavender. Additionally, there are many places growing lavender near the 70th and 71st Regiments where you can go to take photos. In the past two years, lavender planted near Lucaogou in the northeast of Qingshuihe (i.e., the 8th Brigade of the 65th Regiment) has gradually become known. The lavender here is dense and covers a vast area, and there are not many tourists, making it an excellent spot to enjoy the lavender field alone. To get here, you need to travel northeast along National Highway 312 from Qingshuihe for more than ten kilometers. If you’re interested, you can visit.

Lavender blooming period: Depending on temperature and rainfall, the best time is usually between June 10th and July 10th. There may be some lavender blooming at other times, but it may not be as abundant. By the end of July and early August, it’s time to harvest the lavender.

If you don’t have a car, worry about finding the way, don’t want to worry about it yourself, or fear loneliness, then you have another option.

You can join the group to experience the charm of lavender. Starting from Urumqi, let’s see how to tour with a group:
