Xinjiang is located in the northwest border of China, accounting for one-sixth of the country’s land area. It is one of China’s largest provinces. It can be divided into northern and southern Xinjiang, with the Tianshan Mountains as the boundary, and there are obvious differences between the two regions.

Travel Preparations
Prepare mentally for long car rides. The distances between attractions in Xinjiang are measured in hundreds of kilometers. Often, it takes more than ten hours to travel from one attraction to another, and some attractions are so large that you need to take a tour bus inside.
Prepare for hydration and moisturization. Besides being vast, Xinjiang is also dry. Located in the central part of the continent, oceanic moisture is difficult to reach, resulting in low air humidity.
Girls should prepare dresses in bright colors. If you want to take great photos at tourist attractions, bright and refreshing dresses are essential.
There are many places in Xinjiang worth taking photos and checking off, such as Sayram Lake, the Lavender Fields of Princess Jieyou, the Xiate Ancient Road… Every picture taken casually is a masterpiece.
★Sayram Lake
Many people’s impression of Xinjiang stops at the vast Gobi Desert or lonely smoke rising from the desert? Yet, they don’t know that there is such a
★Huocheng Lavender Plantation Base – The Third Largest Lavender Base in the World
Also famous for lavender, Huocheng in Xinjiang is not inferior to Provence in any way. Huocheng is located in the northwest of Yili, a border county that is mainly agricultural with a combination of farming and animal husbandry.
★Xiate Ancient Road – High-Risk Hiking and Exploration Route
The Xiate Ancient Road connects the north and south of Mount Tianshan, stretching 120 kilometers in length. It is a famous and perilous ancient pass on the Silk Road, also known as the Tang Monk’s Ancient Road.
Attempting to climb Mount Tianshan, the fragmented glaciers, ice crevasses, and glaciers along the way will be significant threats.
★Karakun Grassland – Beautiful ‘Three-Dimensional Grassland’
My impression of grasslands has always been the vast Hulunbeir Grassland, with the magnificent and fertile scenery of ‘the vast sky, the boundless wilderness, and wind blowing over the grasslands to reveal cattle and sheep’.
★Bayin布鲁克 Grassland – Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns
Bayin布鲁克 Grassland, located in Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang, is the second-largest grassland in China and one of the larger alpine grasslands in China.
★Karez Wells – Ancient Horizontal Water-Collecting Structures
Karez Wells, meaning ‘well caves,’ are commonly found in the Turpan region of Xinjiang. They are ancient horizontal water-collecting structures used to exploit and utilize groundwater, suitable for the foothills and alluvial fan areas, mainly for intercepting groundwater for farmland irrigation and residential water use.
March – April
It is windy, with cold fronts intruding, making it prone to gale-force winds and floating dust. Rainfall increases.
It is suitable to visit southern Xinjiang at this time, where peach and apricot blossoms are in full bloom, along with the newly revitalized grasslands.
You can enjoy wild apricot blossoms in places like Turpan.
June
In the Yili region, you can enjoy the flower fields covering the mountains and the beautiful lavender (especially beautiful in mid-June). However, fruits and vegetables are not yet ripe at this time.
July – August
You can also see flowers covering the mountains and lush grasslands with abundant water plants. This is a good time to escape the summer heat. Lavender has already been harvested, and fruits and vegetables start to ripen by mid-August.
September – October
The harvest season in Xinjiang is marked by comfortable weather, a true golden autumn season with the fragrance of fruits and vegetables.
Autumn in Xinjiang is truly autumn. The Populus euphratica forests in southern Xinjiang are dyed in the colors of golden autumn, but these two months are the peak tourist season, with increased ticket prices and consumption.
