Beitun/Kanas [one-way 240KM mountain road, approximately 5 hours by car]
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Jiadengyu
Early morning train pick-up (please wash up on the train in advance). After breakfast, proceed to Kanas scenic area, and visit the [Colorful Beach] (complimentary) along the way. The northern shore of Colorful Beach features undulating hills with ever-changing colors, formed by the combined effects of erosion from fast-flowing rivers and strong winds. Continue onwards. Arrive at the Jiadengyu Ticket Station and transfer to a shuttle bus to enter the [Kanas National Geological Park] (including first-entry ticket and round-trip shuttle bus, approximately 3 hours of sightseeing). Take in the sights along the Kanas River, enjoying the primitive Siberian larch forest, birch forest scenery, Shenxianwan, Wolongwan, Moon Bay, and Yaze Lake. Due to intense glacial erosion since the early Quaternary period, the ancient glacial landforms reveal three distinct ice ages. Kanas Lake was formed by the excavation of a huge composite valley glacier during the second major ice age. At that time, the glacier was several kilometers long and about 200-500 meters thick, with its terminal stable at the lake outlet in a state of equilibrium. Gradually, a terminal moraine, about 1 kilometer wide and 50-70 meters high, composed of multiple ridges and depressions, accumulated at the Kanas lake outlet. One outer ridge is about 20 meters high and arcuate, while the inner ridge connects to the lake surface with a slope. The terminal moraine is uneven and composed of a mixture of different-sized glacial blocks, sand, and clay. Later, as the climate warmed, the glacier rapidly retreated, forming the current Kanas Lake. In the scenic area, you can optionally participate in entertainment activities at your own expense, such as taking a Kanas cruise boat [120 yuan/person, self-paid] to explore the depths of the lake, where you can witness the miracle of the ‘kilometer-long deadwood dike’; or enter the ‘log cabin world’ of Kanas Village, wandering through unique log cabins. You can also visit a Tuwa family [home visit: 100 yuan/person, complimentary] to taste mare’s milk wine, drink milk tea, and listen to the beautiful melodies of the ‘Sudi’, experiencing the unique Altay grassland culture. Afterwards, take the shuttle bus back to Jiadengyu and check into the hotel.

Jiadengyu/Hemu
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Hemu
Early in the morning, take the shuttle bus again to Kanas scenic area. You can board the direct bus to the Fish Viewing Pavilion (120 yuan/person, at your own expense) to enjoy a panoramic view of Kanas. If the weather clears up after rain, you may sometimes see the sea of clouds and Buddha’s light at Kanas. Passing by the Hundred Flowers Garden, you will be enchanted by the colorful wildflowers everywhere. Overlook Kanas Lake, explore the mystery of the lake monster, and gaze at Friendship Peak in the distance. Climbing the Fish Viewing Pavilion is the exclamation mark at the end of your Kanas tour itinerary. Without climbing the Fish Viewing Pavilion, you cannot fully appreciate the extreme beauty of Kanas; without climbing it, you cannot fully comprehend the true meaning of life. Take the shuttle bus back to Jiadengyu. After lunch in Jiadengyu, take a car to Hemu scenic area, which is 80 kilometers away and takes about 2 hours to drive (the scenic area has a speed limit of 40 km/h for safety reasons). The beautiful scenery along the way is endless, including birch forests, vast grasslands, occasionally hidden beautiful river bends, and friendly and enthusiastic Kazakh and Tuwa herdsmen. Upon arrival at Hemu scenic area, Hemu Township is a township at the northern end of Shangshanruoshui in western China. The Tuwas, who maintain the complete ethnic traditions of Shangshanruoshui, live here collectively – Hemu Village, which is one of the famous Tuwa villages and also the farthest and largest of the only three remaining Tuwa villages (Hemu Village, Kanas Village, and Baihaba Village). The natural and primitive countryside scenery of Hemu is uniquely beautiful. The Hemu River flows from northeast to southwest, and the primitive village harmoniously integrates with the vast grassland. When you arrive at Hemu Village, the first thing that comes into view are the log cabins and flocks of herds, which, together with snow-capped peaks, forests, meadows, blue skies, and white clouds, constitute a unique natural and cultural landscape. The significance of these log cabins is that they have become a symbol of the Tuwas. Most of the log cabins are buried in the soil to withstand the severe cold during the nearly half-year-long snow-covered mountain period, appearing particularly primitive and unsophisticated, and bearing the traditional characteristics of nomadic peoples. Overnight stay in Hemu.
