In mid-to-late September by Kanas Lake, the mountains and forests resemble a painted screen, with different forest belts displaying clearly layered colors, enhancing the dazzling white snow on the mountaintops and reflecting on the emerald-like surface of Kanas Lake, forming a dazzling picture scroll.

In autumn, Kanas Lake is clear and serene. On the ground, the leaves of birch trees and gray poplars turn from green to yellow and then to red under the gentle caress of the autumn wind. All the trees start to burn, coloring the mountains red and golden.

Kanas River is a winding emerald-green jade belt, either winding between mountain ridges or stretching casually across the grassland. The beautiful water bays and riverbanks such as Wolong Bay and Moon Bay are popular spots for photographers to gather!

The birch trees along the riverbank are waving their flags of life, making the bright golden yellow leaves stretch endlessly along with the river, like a colorful sash draped over the autumn of the Altai Mountains.

Moon Bay is just 1km south of Wolong Bay. It is named Wolong Bay because an island in the water resembles the shape of a dragon; it is also locally known as Kazan Lake, or Pot-Bottom Lake, named after its pot-bottom shape. The forest around the lake is dense, with colorful flowers and lush green grass, and the small island in the lake has a beautiful scenery.
