The Kanas scenic area is located in the middle section of the Altai Mountains in northern Xinjiang, in the golden zone bordering Kazakhstan, Russia, and Mongolia. Its natural and cultural landscapes have retained their primitive charm, earning it the reputation of a "pure land on earth".
The Kanas Tourist Area has the 48°13′ north latitude as its southern boundary, with Hemu Township to the east, and the national border to the northwest. It has a planned area of 10,030 square kilometers, encompassing the Kanas National Nature Reserve, Kanas National Geological Park, Baihaba National Forest Park, Jiadengyu National Forest Park, Burqin Valley, Hemu Valley, Hemu Grassland, as well as the three primitive Tuvan villages of Hemu Village, Baihaba Village, and Kanas Village, among other famous natural and human landscapes both domestically and internationally.
Kanas is really too beautiful, as if it were painted. The scenic area buses run in sections, and you need to take a bus from the foot of the mountain to the main scenic area. There are several attractions along the way, and once you arrive at the main scenic area, you can roam freely and take your heart’s content of photos!
In spring, Kanas is adorned with mountain flowers and lush grass; in summer, it is verdant and the lakes shimmer; in autumn, the forests are ablaze with color and the water glistens like jade; in winter, Kanas is cloaked in silver and ice, presenting a pristine beauty. The scenery of Kanas varies greatly with the seasons and changes with the weather.
