  Best travel time

  Due to climatic differences, all four seasons in Xinjiang are worth visiting, each with its own uniqueness. Generally speaking: July to September is the best time to travel to Northern Xinjiang; August to October is the best time to travel to Southern Xinjiang.

  January – February: Hemu Snow Village, Kanas Snow Village, Kashgar in Southern Xinjiang, and the Muztagh Glacier. At this time, there are fewer people in Xinjiang, and the scenery is beautiful.

  March – April: Be aware that spring in Xinjiang is coming soon. This is a good time to see apricot blossoms. The apricot blossoms in Tashkurgan County (Datong Township, Bandier Township), the apricot blossom valley in Nalati… The time for apricot blossoms varies slightly each year, so please refer to specific notices.

  May: Southern Xinjiang gradually enters summer, while Northern Xinjiang enters spring. Kanas has not yet entered spring and needs to wait for the grass to turn green. At this time, you can see the flowers blooming in Ili, and the scenery varies depending on the flowering season.

  June – August: Xinjiang is in full bloom, and it is the best time to appreciate lavender fields and rapeseed flower seas; the scenery of Eastern Switzerland composed of grasslands, lakes, and snow-capped mountains will also reach its best during this period.

  September: Don’t go to Ili at this time. Once the grasslands in Ili turn yellow, they are not as beautiful. The main attractions are in Kanas and Southern Xinjiang. The popular autumn scenery in Kanas begins to take shape, with a fairyland-like scene composed of golden birch forests and the smoke from the homes of the Tuwa people, which is a paradise favored by photographers.

  October: The birch forest in Kanas and the poplar forest in Southern Xinjiang.

  November – December: Same as January – February.
