　　So, where is Koktokay?​

　　Koktokay is a scenic area in Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang, and it is also a pasture transfer site. In summer, the grass is lush and the scenery is beautiful, with wildflowers everywhere. It is not only a great place for grazing but also a highly contested area for beekeepers.​

　　Altay is the only region in northwest China that borders Russia. It has alpine lakes and beautiful scenery. Famous attractions include Kanas, Koktokay, and the Bourgen River Beaver Nature Reserve, among others.​

　　The Koktokay scenic area is located in Koktokay Town, Fuyun County, Altay Prefecture. The scenic area consists of five sub-areas: the Irtysh Grand Canyon, the No. 3 Vein, Saying Hengbulake, Kokesuli, and Karaxianger.​

　　The natural scenery here is very beautiful. Many tourists have come all the way to visit after hearing the song "The Shepherd of Koktokay".​

　　Koktokay is the second coldest place in China and is also recognized worldwide as a "natural museum" of rare metals. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it has been classified as a highly confidential area. This is Koktokay. Koktokay is not a sea, but it is more beautiful than any sea. Inside this scenic area, there lies a huge and magnificent mine pit. Before 1980, on Chinese maps, this place was only marked with a mysterious code name “111”. This area, unknown to anyone, hides something mysterious. It contains extremely rich and rare metallic ores and has made a significant contribution to the development of the motherland.​

　　神钟山​

　　又称阿米尔萨拉峰。一座神奇绝妙状如倒扣的石钟的花岗岩奇峰在额河南岸平地而起，相对高度351米，孤峰傲立，为阿尔泰山之。神钟山犹如巨神插足碧水绿荫之间，头枕蓝天白云，显得巍峨神奇，变幻莫测。岩壁缝上生长着白桦树、青松和西伯利亚云杉，雨过天晴，彩虹划天而过，景色十分壮观。登上山顶，极目远望，群峰巍峨，额河峡谷跃入眼帘，山脚下的额河水像翡翠一样在巨石间穿梭，绕过钟山脚，绝尘而去。每到秋季，神钟山峡谷两侧的红叶染红了整个峡谷，秋意盎然，一派北国风光，犹如画中游​

　　位于可可托海镇西南7公里额尔齐斯河与它的支流卡依尔特河交汇处，经拦河筑坝而成的水库型湖泊，湖面面积为18.5平方公里，湖面海拔1120米，蓄水1.13亿立方米，湖水深度为100米，湖口大坝西侧地下136米处修建有我国罕见的地下水电站。该电站已有50年历史，至今依然在运行中​

　　三号矿坑​

　　地质圣坑–三号脉​

　　被地质学家誉为“麦加”的三号矿坑就在额尔齐斯河上。三号矿坑坑内有84种矿种共生，主要有锂、铍、钽、铌、铷、铯、钴等多种稀有金属。此矿脉储量之丰、规模之大、矿种之多、品位之高、成份之分明为国内所独有，国外所罕见。在60年代曾为国家偿还了前苏联三分之一的债务。三号矿脉形状较为独特，该矿历经50年的采掘，使三号矿脉由原先高出地表数百米的高耸辉长岩山体，已经挖成深200米、长250米、宽200米的大坑。出现了现实中的“愚公移山”景观。。湖边山壁上的层层旋环运矿车道，状如古罗马的巨型“斗兽场”气势颇为壮观​

　　可可苏里​

　　草原泽国–可可苏里​

　　进入景区23公里处，便是可可苏里，又因湖中有大量野鸭以及红雁、白天鹅在这里繁衍生息，故又称野鸭湖，湖面面积2677亩，平均水深2米，湖中有根部交错的芦苇而形成的大小浮岛20多个，水生植物丰富。​
