Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, is one of the first batch of national historic and cultural cities. It is the political, economic, cultural, scientific, technological, and transportation center of Yunnan Province, the fourth largest city in western China, and the only metropolis in China facing ASEAN.
Due to its pleasant climate with no scorching heat in summer and no severe cold in winter, it has a typical temperate climate. The urban temperature ranges from 0 to 29°C, with the smallest annual temperature difference in the country. Such rarely seen climatic characteristics in the world have made Kunming famous at home and abroad as the ‘City of Eternal Spring’. It has the World Natural Heritage – Yunnan Stone Forest.

Dali, located in the central-west of Yunnan Province, has a total area of 29,459 square kilometers. It has a vast territory and rich resources, with beautiful mountains and rivers, and a climate like spring throughout the year. It is a treasure trove waiting to be developed in the southwest of the country.
The prefecture governs one city and eleven counties, and is home to 26 ethnic groups including Han, Bai, Yi, Hui, Lisu, Tibetan, and纳西 (Naxi). The total population at the end of 1999 was 3.2609 million, with ethnic minorities accounting for about 50%, among which the Bai population was 1.0853 million. It is an autonomous prefecture with the Bai nationality as the autonomous nationality and the hometown of the world-famous movie ‘Five Golden Flowers’. Dali City, where the prefecture government is located, is the intersection of the Yunnan-Myanmar and Yunnan-Tibet highways.

Lijiang City is located at the junction of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in the northwest of Yunnan Province, at longitude 100.25°E and latitude 26.86°N. It borders Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture to the north, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture to the south, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture to the west, and Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture and Panzhihua City in Sichuan Province to the east.
Forget about time, forget about discipline, watch a cigarette burn, enjoy the heat of UV rays, listen to the innkeeper’s idle chatter… Thus伪装成了 (disguised as) a resident of Lijiang… Over the years, Lijiang hasn’t really changed, has it? Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in northwestern Yunnan and is the only Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Yunnan Province. Diqing is located at the junction of Yunnan, Tibet, and Sichuan provinces in northwestern Yunnan, within the Hengduan Mountains that run north-south and are an extension of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is in the hinterland of the Three Parallel Rivers of Jinsha River, Lancang River, and Nujiang River National Scenic Area. The Lancang River and Jinsha River run south from north across the entire prefecture, covering a total area of 23,870 square kilometers. The prefecture governs three counties: Shangri-La County, Deqin County, and Weixi Lisu Autonomous County.

Baoshan City

Located in western Yunnan, Baoshan is an important stop on the famous "Ancient Silk Road of the Southwest" with rich cultural deposits. It is 571 kilometers west of Kunming along the Yunnan-Burma Highway or a 45-minute flight away. Tengchong National Scenic Area, located in Tengchong County, Baoshan Prefecture, has unique volcano groups and geothermal landscapes.
Tourists can follow the Yunnan-Burma Highway to visit the historic sites along the Ancient Silk Road of the Southwest. Here, tourists can admire the magnificent landscapes of volcanoes and geothermal features, experience the ethnic customs in the Ethnic Village, enjoy the subtropical scenery on the China-Myanmar border, and immerse themselves in the idyllic countryside of western Yunnan.
When in Baoshan, the volcanoes and hot springs are must-visit places, while other attractions can be selected based on your preference. The specific arrangement can be designed according to your itinerary. If you take the southwestern route, you can spend half a day exploring the geothermal features of Tengchong (Hot Spring). If you want to soak in a hot spring, it may take a whole day. If you take the northwestern route, you can spend half a day exploring the Tengchong volcano group. If you also want to visit Yunfeng Mountain, it will take a whole day.

Dehong Prefecture

Ruili River and Daying River Scenic Areas are located in Dehong Dai-Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture. While visiting the historic sites along the Yunnan-Burma Highway, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery along the two rivers. Ruili got its name because it is located on the banks of the Ruili River in western Yunnan.
In addition, the Hansa houses with unique ethnic characteristics are the essence of Dai architecture. Today, this place has become a tourist attraction on the southwestern border of the country.

Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, an autonomous prefecture under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, is located in the southern tip of Yunnan. In ancient Dai language, Xishuangbanna means "an ideal and magical paradise". It is renowned worldwide for its beautiful natural tropical rainforest landscapes and ethnic customs. It is a dazzling pearl embedded in the southern border of China.
This fertile land is home to one-fourth of the country’s animal species and one-sixth of its plant species, earning it the titles of the "Kingdom of Animals" and "Kingdom of Plants". It is one of China’s popular tourist cities. The unique Songkran Festival, held in mid-April each year, attracts numerous domestic and international tourists.

Honghe Prefecture

Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture is located in the southeast of Yunnan Province, bordering Kunming to the north, Wenshan to the east, Yuxi to the west, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the south. The Tropic of Cancer crosses it from east to west. Honghe is a microcosm of Yunnan’s economy, society, and natural and cultural heritage. It is the birthplace of modern industry in Yunnan and serves as a land route and bridgehead for China’s connections to ASEAN.
Honghe’s beautiful subtropical scenery in southern China, rich and colorful ethnic folk arts and culture, unique landscapes, distinctive traditional crafts, and ancient cultural sites with high scientific research value have formed diverse and colorful tourist attractions. The four developed boutique tourist routes in the prefecture showcase "The First Cave in Yunnan" – Luxi Alu Ancient Cave, "Marvelous Yanzi Cave, Unique in the South" – the largest Yanzi Cave in Asia located in Jianshui, Mile Bailong Cave, Kaiyuan Nan Cave, and other "fairylandscapes", as well as nature-immersing spots such as Pingbian "Dawei Mountain Forest Park" and "Bear’s Playground".

Yuxi City

Yuxi City, located in central Yunnan Province, borders Kunming City to the north, Pu’er City to the southwest, and Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture to the southeast. It also borders Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture to the northwest, with a total area of 15,285 square kilometers. The city is divided into 1 municipal district, 5 counties, and 3 autonomous counties. Hongta District, the administrative seat, is the third largest city in Yunnan Province. It is renowned as the "Granary of Central Yunnan" and "Hometown of Yunnan Tobacco" due to its high grain yields and high-quality tobacco leaves.
In addition to Fuxian Lake, known as the ‘Pearl of the Plateau’, Yuxi’s scenic spots also include Xingyun Lake, Qilu Lake, Yangzong Sea, Tonghai Xiushan, Jiulong Pool, Nie Er’s Former Residence, Huaning Elephant Trunk Mountain Hot Spring, Chengjiang Maotianshan National Geological Park, Jiangchuan Lijia Mountain Bronze Ware Museum, etc. They have formed a scenic area integrating scientific research, archaeology, tourism, recuperation, and vacation, mainly featuring ‘three lakes, one mountain, one city, and one spring’.

It borders Baise City in Guangxi to the east, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the south, Honghe哈尼族彝族自治州 to the west, and Qujing City to the north.
Most areas of Wenshan Prefecture experience neither severe cold in winter nor intense heat in summer.

Qujing City

Qujing City, anciently known as Wei County, is located in the northeast of Yunnan Province, China, on the upper reaches of the Nanpan River. It is one of the areas developed earlier in Yunnan’s history. It is now an important heavy industry base in Yunnan Province and also the main power supply support and load center in Yunnan. It is known as the ‘Key to Dian and Qian’ and the ‘Throat of Yunnan’. Qujing covers an area of 33,821 square kilometers and has scenic spots such as Zhujiangyuan, the Stele of Cuan Baozi, the Stele of Cuan Longyan, the Stele of the Alliance of Thirty-Seven Tribes in Dali, Qianfo Tower, and Jiulong Waterfall Group.

Zhaotong City

Zhaotong has a long history. During the late Western Zhou Dynasty, the ‘Hopeful Emperor’ led his tribe to rise here and taught the people to farm. After Emperor Qin Shi Huang unified the country, he ordered Li Bing to dig the ‘Five-Foot Path’ in Yunnan. Since then, the Yunnan region began to accept the civilization of the Central Plains, and Zhaotong was located at the hub of the ‘Five-Foot Path’. The altitude varies greatly across Zhaotong, and it basically has a three-dimensional alpine climate. It is said that ‘there are four seasons in one mountain and different weather in every ten li’. Zhaotong is rich in mountainous resources, various delicacies and fruits, and is also known as the hometown of Chinese herbal medicines.
