What are the characteristics of the "Tianshan" tourism train?
This year, the Xinjiang Railway Department plans to operate 106 tourism trains. Among them, 12 trains are planned for the high-quality "Travel Xinjiang by Train · Tianshan" tourism train.
This tourism train is equipped with three types of passenger carriages: high-class sleeper carriages, soft sleeper carriages, and hard sleeper carriages. The soft decorations in the carriages also have unique Xinjiang folk customs characteristics. Highlighting the concept of "one carriage, one scenery", scenes from six major regions—Altay, Aksu, Ili, Turpan, Hami, and Kashgar—are selected. Each carriage has a unique theme, and through paintings, decorations, and illustrations, the natural scenery and cultural folklore of Xinjiang are deeply integrated, allowing tourists to feel a strong cultural atmosphere as soon as they board the train.

Question 2: How far in advance should I book a Xinjiang tourist train?
Xinjiang tourist trains usually release their specific departure schedules, itineraries, and fees in November of the year before departure. Reservations can be made in the same month. Since Xinjiang tourist trains do not depart every day but have regular monthly departures, reservations must be made in advance. Some trains require reservations up to a year in advance. If you plan to join a tourist train temporarily, there may not be available seats.
Question 3: Where do the Xinjiang tourist trains start and end?
Tourist trains such as the New Oriental Express, Tianshan Train, New Western Tourist Train, and Yuanman Nanjiang Train start and end in Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang. The departure station is Urumqi High-Speed Rail Station, and the arrival station is also Urumqi High-Speed Rail Station (currently known as Urumqi Station).
