Highlight of the Day:乌尔禾Ghost Town (Urho Ghost Town): The wind nests here, the rain pauses here, and sand and stones have undergone years of wear and tear here. This is a witness of time, the exquisite carving of natural disasters, and the territory of ghosts.

Day 2: Burqin — Altay Grasslands — Hemu Village

After breakfast in the morning, the sky in Burqin only reveals a bright red dawn. While people are still asleep, we are ready to set out again. We wind our way up the mountain, with greens filling our sight. Horses, cows, and sheep on the hillside come into view, and distant yurts are where the nomadic people live! The scene centered around the yurts really has a poetic atmosphere, the beauty of harmony, immersed in all the scenes of the journey, so beautiful on the Xinjiang tourist road! We drive into the Altai Mountains and enter [Hemu Village], known as the "God’s Backyard" in the pure land of the world.

Day 3: Hemu Village — Kanas — Jiadengyu

The night sky in Hemu only reveals the slumber of countless stars. While people are still asleep, our photography-loving companions are ready to set out again. Crossing the Hemu Bridge, passing through the Birch Forest, and climbing along a mountain trail, the vegetation beside the road, high and low, is covered with a thin layer of white frost. Some leaves still have glittering water droplets rolling on them, which we don’t know if they are raindrops from last night or dew in the morning. There is a fixed viewing platform for the sunrise in Hemu, located halfway up the mountain behind the village. At this time, the hundreds-of-meters-long viewing platform may already be filled with visitors in coats, tripods, and laughter. Slowly, the village begins to wake up, and smoke drifts out of chimneys, decorating this world even more like a dream. After breakfast, we take a car to Kanas Lake. The fog in the valley is stretched thinly and thickly by the wind, gathering and dispersing at times. Through this light fog, one can occasionally see the winding river and dense forests within, with rugged wooden houses dotted among them, full of charm and artistic conception! Suddenly, the rising sun crosses the mountain peak and bursts out, but its soft rays do not pierce through the fog, instead casting a light shadow on that thin layer of fog! It floats gracefully, indescribably ethereal and light, expressing endless lingering emotions. After arriving at Jiadengyu, we take a shuttle bus to enter the scenic area. The serene Moon Bay changes with the water level of Kanas Lake, truly a pearl embedded in the Kanas River. It’s a fairyland on earth. Looking at the lake from the backlit side, it shines with fine and scattered light under sunlight, as if countless pearls are scattered freely. With clouds wrapping around, it feels like entering a fairyland. Yaze Lake has an open surrounding area, with the lake like a mirror. In summer, flocks of wild ducks and wild geese inhabit and reproduce in the lake area, watching birds spread their wings silently! Shenxian Bay is actually a riverbed. The river divides the forest and grassland into islands that seem connected yet separate. The lake and clouds are wrapped in mist, transcendent and dreamlike, like a fairyland!

  Day 4: Burqin — Koktokay

After breakfast, we will leave for China’s coldest place, Fuyun County, in the morning sunshine. Enter the hometown of gemstones, [Koktokay National Geopark] for a visit. Koktokay means green jungle. In Mongolian, it means blue river bay. The scenic area is composed of several parts including the Irtysh Grand Canyon, Koktosu Lake, and the Karaxianger Fault Zone. The moment we enter Koktokay, our hearts seem to be filled with lively musical notes, dancing with light butterflies, free birds, and gurgling springs, sweeping away the fatigue and troubles of the journey. The breeze blows on our faces, and the clouds change accordingly. Those clusters of lotus flowers soon turn into wisps of cloud rolling and drifting gently along. Looking up at the clouds, they seem to be still, but we are moving. If you lie down in the shade, it’s like a fairy wandering, how delightful it is. It’s also a pleasure for the mind to leap in thought. The sky is high enough for birds to fly, and the sea is vast enough for fish to leap. Being in Koktokay, our hearts have already been freely soaring and imagining. We remain unperturbed by honor or disgrace, watching the flowers bloom and fade in the courtyard; we don’t care about staying or leaving, watching the clouds roll and unfurl in the sky. This kind of artistic conception is fully expressed in Koktokay. Along the way, we will visit [Koktosu Lake Scenic Area] and [Birch Forest],

  Day 5: Fuyun — Urumqi

After breakfast, we will return to Urumqi with unlimited reluctance. Along the way, we will see the magnificent Gurbantunggut Desert and the Gobi scenery. Passing by the Kalamai Hooved Animal Nature Reserve on the edge of the Junggar Basin, if you are lucky, you may also see wild animals such as goitered gazelles and Przewalski’s horses. View the strange Huoshao Mountain, and after being covered by the evening sun, we will arrive in Urumqi and disband the group. End this dreamlike journey!
