Best tourist season in Xinjiang: July, August, September, October
① March to April: It is windy, with cold waves invading, and prone to gale-force winds and floating dust. Precipitation increases. At this time, going to southern Xinjiang is a good choice. Peach and apricot blossoms bloom, and the grasslands are just reviving. Turpan, Shanshan, and other places offer wild apricot blossoms to admire.
② June: In the Yili region, you can admire seas of flowers and beautiful lavender (most beautiful in mid-June), but fruits and vegetables are not yet ripe.
③ July to August: You can still see seas of flowers everywhere and vast, lush grasslands. The mountainous areas are great summer resorts. At this time, the grasslands welcome the Nadamu Festival and the Tianma Festival. However, lavender has already been harvested, and fruits and vegetables start to ripen in mid-August.
④ September to October: It is the harvest season of beauty in Xinjiang, with pleasant weather. It is the true golden autumn season with fragrant fruits and vegetables. Autumn’s Kanas is recognized as having the most beautiful autumn scenery in China, and the Hu Yang forest in southern Xinjiang also takes on the colors of golden autumn. Fruits and vegetables are also in their harvest season. However, these two months are also the peak tourist season in Xinjiang, and correspondingly, prices and scenic area ticket prices rise.
