Where to go for National Day holiday?
These places in Xinjiang are definitely your best choice.
Absolutely breathtaking!
Pearls of the Tianshan Mountains: The Big and Small Dragon Lakes
About 120 kilometers from Kuqa, deep in the Tianshan Mountains, lie two alpine lakes. Known as the Big Dragon Lake and Small Dragon Lake, they offer breathtaking scenery. Below the mountains, fir trees and cypresses stand tall, with lush green grass spreading out. Yurts of herdsmen dot the landscape, and occasionally, snowcock, Mongolian gazelle, and snow leopards can be seen.
A pure blue lake reflects dots of white sheep, yellow yaks, and maroon horses……
The mountains here stretch east and west, like a roaring army galloping forward, or like towering waves crashing……
The Big and Small Dragon Lakes shine like two sparkling gems, reflecting each other’s brilliance. Here, you can feel the tranquility and holiness, far away from the hustle and bustle of the world.
Here there are grasslands, hot springs, snowy peaks, and rivers. The grass is lush, and the water flows abundantly.
Here lies the Tangbula Grassland, a paradise on earth adorned with snow-capped fir trees and accompanied by towering mountains and white clouds; the Mengkete Grassland, where every step reveals a picturesque scene and 19 streams are nestled, resembling a poem painted in nature; and the alpine lakes, delicate and crystalline, known as the ‘Little Tianchi’ among others.
Kanas
A place you won’t get tired of visiting a thousand times!!
Kanas Lake in Xinjiang is located on the southern slope of the scenic Friendship Peak. Within the Kanas National Reserve, which covers an area of about 250,000 hectares, the majestic Altay Mountains stretch across northern Xinjiang. Its main peak, Friendship Peak, is covered with snow all year round and is one of the modern glaciers at low altitudes in China.
Because the Altay Mountains where Kanas Lake is located were uplifted due to tectonic movement. Before this, most of the area was ocean, and later the Altay Mountains were formed due to tectonic uplift. Kanas Lake was formed as a glacial lake, so people have always compared Kanas Lake to the last tear of the ancient Pacific Ocean.
Turpan
Turpan is a basin area in Xinjiang, with a large amount of classic scenery. Turpan has left us a large number of Silk Road sites, providing a lot of reference material for us to understand the Silk Road. Turpan’s unique ethnic atmosphere is also a major highlight here. Special music, dances, and clothing amaze visitors who come here. Grape Valley is where Turpan produces grapes and is therefore famous worldwide. In the middle of Turpan, the rolling heat rising from Flaming Mountain in summer, coupled with the surrounding red mountains, resembles an impending volcanic eruption. Jiaohe Ancient City, Kumtag Desert, Kanerjing Folk Customs Park, and the Silk Road are all very worth visiting places here.
Kashgar in Xinjiang Tourism
Kashgar means a place like jade. Its stunning natural scenery and rich cultural landscape are the tourist highlights here. Kashgar has a unique climate, coupled with abundant rainfall, making the local produce abundant and the fruits fragrant. In autumn, the leaves of the large number of poplar trees in Jinhuyang National Forest Park turn yellow, providing great visual enjoyment from both near and far views. The Fragrant Concubine Tomb, Kashgar Bazaar, and Kashgar Old Town are all worth visiting cultural landscapes here.

Devil’s City —— A “castle” blown out by the wind
Surrounding Attractions: Karamay Oilfield No. 1
Whether in Mongolian or Kazakh, they all call it the “Devil’s City” by agreement. The Devil’s City is not a castle; it is a rare wind erosion landform in China, various “buildings” blown out by the wind. Some resemble the Liuhe Pagoda in Hangzhou; some resemble the Temple of Heaven in Beijing; some resemble the Pyramids of Egypt; some resemble Angkor Wat in Cambodia… The terrifying time at the Devil’s City is when the wild winds kick up at nightfall, with the sound of flying sand and rolling stones creating an eerie atmosphere. However, during the daytime, you may still find beautiful, crystalline agate stones there.
