DAY1: Arrive in Kanas, cruise on Kanas Lake, Dewar Home Visit
Starting from Jiadenyu, self-driving is not allowed, and you need to take the scenic area’s shuttle bus.
There are over 30 kilometers of winding mountain roads from Jiadenyu to the Kanas scenic area’s internal transfer center, with a journey time of 1 hour.
Full of anticipation for the beautiful autumn scenery, I couldn’t wait to head straight to the Shuanghu Cruise Dock despite the fatigue from traveling.
Walk along the long wooden boardwalk to reach the First Bay, and then take a boat to reach the Third Bay.
It’s said that the scenery on the road is the most beautiful. It’s true. I’ve already seen one of the wonders of Kanas Lake – the kilometer-long deadwood causeway.
There are also many beautiful soon-to-be brides and grooms taking their wedding photos.
Dewar Home Visit
When visiting Kanas, besides the natural scenery, the cultural scenery is even more anticipated.
It only takes a few minutes to walk from the lakeside to the Dewar Folk Custom Visit Point.
Here, the horse-head fiddle plays melodiously, while the khoomei (throat singing) is deep and resonant… The locally renowned Tuwa Handega Band uses ancient musical instruments to showcase a new face of the Tuwa tribe to tourists.
Dewar Folk Custom Visit Point is one of the earliest home visits established in Kanas.
DAY2: Fish Viewing Terrace —— Fox Bookstore —— Hiking to the Shouting Spring
The Fish Viewing Terrace is a must-visit place for all tour groups and independent travelers,
This is the "eyewitness scene" where the Kanas Lake Monster was discovered, and it is also the best place to view "Sea of Clouds and Buddha’s Light" and the "Color-Changing Lake".
Climb up along the 1,068 steps to see the lake, observe the clouds, and overlook the magic of this northwest pure land.

Hiking to the Shouting Spring:
When traveling to Kanas, you need to save enough energy to take some unconventional routes, such as hiking to the Shouting Spring.
The Shouting Spring is at an altitude of 1,332 meters and has a diameter of 2.5 meters. There is a peculiar phenomenon at the Shouting Spring. When it is disturbed by external sound wave frequencies and resonance occurs, the spring water will surge out, causing the sand to roll up and down. The Shouting Spring is also regarded as holy water by the locals, and it is surrounded by colorful strips symbolizing good luck. It is said that Genghis Khan once used this water to heal his wounds.
The Shouting Spring does not have an impressive appearance, and it requires many people to shout together for the water to bubble up.
Ways to Reach the Shouting Spring:
1) Horse Riding. Ride a horse from the transfer center to the Shouting Spring, taking about 1.5 hours round trip.
2) Hiking. Take the shuttle bus from the transfer center to Kanas New Village, which takes about 10 minutes, and then hike to the Shouting Spring, taking about 3 hours round trip.
Seeing the Shouting Spring may not be surprising, but the process of hiking and the scenery along the way are more enjoyable.

Hemu Village borders on Mongolia, Russia, and Kazakhstan, where Kazakhs and Tuvans live.
It is also the farthest and largest village among the only three remaining Tuvan villages (Hemu Village, Baihaba Village, Kanas Village).

After enjoying a delicious barbecue, walk to the Kanas Grand Theater to watch a "Kanas Ceremony".
The Grand Theater is located in an excellent position and the building is also very eye-catching. With an area of 21,000 square meters, it is a national cultural exhibition center that integrates song and dance performances, cultural experiences, leisure and entertainment, capable of accommodating nearly a thousand people to watch simultaneously.
The musical dance drama "Kanas Ceremony" uses local ethnic songs and dances to fully interpret the regional cultural phenomena of Kanas, showcasing the long and glorious grassland civilization of the local ethnic groups, as well as the beautiful and splendid folk music and dance art.
