The new regulations for traveling to Xinjiang mainly include adjustments to the operating status of scenic areas, prevention and control requirements for cross-provincial tours, and optimization of tourism services.
Adjustment of Scenic Area Operating Status:
Some popular attractions such as Xiata and Bayinbuluke were closed for a period of time due to road upgrades and renovations, but they are expected to reopen around June 10th.
To protect the ecological environment, the Sayram Lake scenic area has dismantled the RV campsite within the scenic area. Tourists need to choose other accommodation options, such as herdsmen’s yurts, camping, or RVs (specific arrangements to be determined).
Prevention and Control Requirements for Cross-Provincial Tours:
The travel code must be green and cannot have a ⭐ mark, ensuring no travel history in medium-to-high-risk areas.
You need to have a negative nucleic acid test report within 48 hours, which is the basic requirement for entering and leaving Xinjiang.
In addition to the travel code, out-of-Xinjiang tourists also need to verify their ‘National Government Service Platform Health Code’ (or ‘Xinjiang Government Service Health Code’) and ‘Communication Big Data Travel Card’.
You need to declare your entry into Xinjiang on the ‘Xinjiang Government Service Health Code’, and you will need to take another nucleic acid test upon arrival.
The nucleic acid test time for flights is calculated based on the sampling time, not the testing time.
After arriving in Xinjiang, you will likely receive a survey call from the prevention and control department the next day to verify information and inform you of subsequent nucleic acid test requirements.
Tourism Service Optimization:
Xinjiang advocates Xinjiang residents to tour Xinjiang, resumes cross-provincial group tours, and accelerates the activation of the tourism consumption market.
Regions will actively develop nearby tours, suburban tours, rural tours, and urban leisure tours, encouraging Xinjiang residents to tour Xinjiang, locals to tour their own regions, and mutual tours between northern and southern Xinjiang.
Resume cross-provincial group tours and ‘flight + hotel’ business to and from Xinjiang for travel agencies and online tour operators, and encourage various regions to introduce special incentive policies for chartered flights, special trains, and self-driving tours.
In addition, there are some travel precautions, such as Xinjiang’s vast territory, where tourists can voluntarily choose to participate in self-funded projects based on their interests and conditions; tourists holding certificates such as senior citizen cards, military officer cards, and student IDs may receive (free or discounted) ticket prices according to the requirements of the scenic area; tourists should provide true personal information and health status and participate in tourist projects and products within their abilities, etc.
The above information is for reference only. Specific new regulations and precautions may change over time and with policy adjustments. It is recommended to consult the latest official information or travel agencies before traveling to obtain the most accurate information.
