Huoyan Mountain
Huoyan Mountain, known as ‘Keziltag’ in Uyghur, means ‘Red Mountain’. It was once called ‘Volcano’ due to its intense heat.
Due to the widely known story of Sun Wukong borrowing the Bajiaoshan fan three times to extinguish the blazing fire of Huoyan Mountain in ‘Journey to the West’, Huoyan Mountain has become famous worldwide. The Huoyan Mountain range runs east-west, starting from Lankan Liusha River in Shanshan County in the east and ending at Taoergou in Turpan in the west, spanning 100km.

Tianshan Tianchi, anciently known as ‘Yaochi’, is a crescent-shaped lake on the northern side of Mount Bogda in Tianshan. It is a famous tourist attraction in Xinjiang.
Grape Valley
Located at the western end of Huoyan Mountain, this 8km long valley is dotted with endless orchards and vineyards because of a small stream flowing through it.
