After arriving at Devil’s City in the afternoon, everyone can take photos and enjoy themselves to their hearts’ content. After breakfast, we will head to [Haba River]. Upon arrival in Habahe County, we will have lunch and apply for border passes, then proceed to a lake in the desert on the border – Baisha Lake, which is located on the China-Kazakhstan border. Baisha Lake is a beautiful and petite lake located in the desert. In summer, there are wild lotus flowers in the middle of the lake, reeds swaying by the lakeside, and a forest of birch trees surrounding the lake, with the desert on the edge. The lake surface is as smooth as a mirror, with rich colors and distinct layers. Any camera can capture the beautiful scenery.
Day 4: Habahe County – Baihaba Scenic Area
After breakfast, we head to [Baihaba]. If Kanas is an ancient, idyllic paradise, then Baihaba is a fairy tale world in a primitive natural environment. Baihaba Village is dominated by the Tuvans and is located on the valley plain of the Altai Mountains, overlooking the mountains of Kazakhstan in the distance. This is also the China-Kazakhstan border, with border forests guarding the motherland and sacred, inviolable boundary markers! When autumn arrives, the mountain village is painted in a riot of colors – red, yellow, green, and brown, like a palette, complemented by the snow-capped peaks of the Altay Mountains, creating a perfect oil painting throughout the year. Sunset, herds returning, pastoral scenery, snow-capped mountains, borders, rivers, Tuvan villages, primitive homes…
Day 5: Habahe County – Baihaba Scenic Area
Get up at 7 am and walk to the [Baihaba Viewing Platform] to capture Baihaba in the morning light, with wooden cabins, haystacks, wooden fences, curling smoke, golden birch forests in autumn, and distant snow-capped mountains, creating an autumn oil painting.
8:30 Breakfast at the inn. After breakfast, pack your luggage. Arrange for heavy luggage to be checked to Kanas and travel lightly from [Baihaba] to [Kanas] on foot. Along the way, you will pass through birch forests, taiga forests, and Kanas primitive forests and grasslands. After an estimated 6 hours of hiking, you will arrive at the Kanas scenic area.
Day 6: Kanas – Fish Viewing Pavilion – Three Bays – Jiadengyu
Today we will play at the most classic places in Kanas. First, after breakfast, we will climb up to the [Fish Viewing Pavilion] in Kanas.
[Fish Viewing Pavilion] is located on the top of Halakate Mountain beside Kanas Lake. In Mongolian, Halakate means Camel Peak, with an altitude of 2030 meters, 700 meters higher than the lake surface. Part of the Fish Viewing Pavilion hangs in mid-air at the peak. This part offers the best view of Kanas Lake and is also the best place to observe the Kanas Lake monster, hence its name.
After coming down from the Fish Viewing Pavilion, we will visit the three bays of Kanas: [Fairy Bay], [Moon Bay], and [Wolong Bay]. Explore the most essential attractions of Kanas scenic area, the Three Bays, while enjoying alpine flowers and grassland scenery along the way. The shuttle buses here will stop at every scenic spot. You can get off at any spot to play, and after you’re done, go back to the stop to wait for the next shuttle bus. Anyway, the shuttle buses here are constantly flowing. As long as you don’t lose your shuttle bus ticket, you can get on and off freely. The wooden boardwalks at each scenic spot are connected. As long as you have good energy and high enthusiasm, you can hike along the wooden boardwalk all the way, from Fairy Bay to Wolong Bay, then to Moon Bay, and then get back on the bus at Moon Bay to head to Jiadengyu.
