Traveling in Xinjiang does not truly allow one to experience four seasons in a single day, but it does allow one to experience vastly different natural scenery and customs in different seasons.?
The four seasons in Xinjiang each have their own characteristics:?
Winter (November – early March of the next year): Winter Xinjiang is a world wrapped in silver. Kanas Hemu resembles a fairy tale in the snow, where one can ski, make snowmen, and admire the vast snowy scenery; Sayram Lake witnesses the miracle of blue ice; a stroll through the snowfields of Ili allows one to feel the beauty of being wrapped in silver; the glaciers and snowy mountains in southern Xinjiang are even more spectacular and majestic.?
Spring (March – late April): Spring Xinjiang sees everything coming back to life. Ili is the season when wild lilies bloom; apricot blossoms in southern Xinjiang bloom like clouds and mist; Turpan displays a unique charm at the foot of Mount Flame.?
Summer (June – August): Summer Xinjiang is a riot of colors and fiery enthusiasm. Northern Xinjiang, Southern Xinjiang, the Duku Highway, and the Yizhao Highway are all must-visit places. Lakes such as Kanas Lake and Sayram Lake are crystal clear, while grasslands and lavender fields are even more breathtakingly beautiful.?
Autumn (September – October): Autumn Xinjiang is golden all over, with Kanas particularly spectacular for enjoying the golden autumn scenery; the thousand-year-old Populus euphratica forest in southern Xinjiang displays the beauty of time-worn changes.?
Although Xinjiang cannot experience the changes of four seasons in a single day, each season has its unique scenery and charm, worth savoring by tourists.?
