The mixed beauty of gold and blue – Koktokay
In autumn, Koktokay boasts large areas of wild birch, poplar, and pine forests with golden or fiery red leaves, resembling a blazing sunset in the sky. A clear river flows noisily through the峡谷, surrounded by steep mountains whose peaks are already dusted with snow. The forest, river, and leaves, which resemble flowers, blend together to create a vast, sea-like landscape that captivates the eyes. It features unique landscapes such as the Altay Mountain granite landform, canyon landform, world-class pegmatite rare metal deposits, and the Karaxianger earthquake fault zone relics, which have rich and diverse scientific and aesthetic significance. Its pristine nature is also a major attraction, drawing people from all over the world to visit.

Hemu is the most intact village of the Tuvans, a Mongolian subgroup in China. Of the over 2,000 Tuvans nationwide, most reside in wooden cabins within this primitive forest. This small village with hundreds of households and thousands of people is said to be inhabited by descendants of Genghis Khan. The locals mainly earn their living through nomadic herding. Nestled in a flat area surrounded by mountains, this idyllic village is framed by rows of poplar and birch trees on the outskirts. From the hills surrounding Hemu Village, you can overlook the panoramic view of the village and the Hemu River: a serene valley, a small bridge over flowing water, and horse herders raising dust as they ride through the jungle. Hemu is known as a photographer’s paradise because, unlike the bustling Kanas, it boasts a calm river, primitive wooden cabins, and the culturally rich Tuvans and Kazakhs… Everywhere you look, there is endless photographic material.
Kanas
Kanas means ‘beautiful and fertile, mysterious and unpredictable’ in Mongolian, and it couldn’t be a more fitting name for this land. It is renowned for its scenic beauty, which is composed of Kanas Lake and the surrounding snowy mountains, grasslands, and birch forests.
Baihaba
In a small village shrouded in morning mist, wooden cabins scattered at the foot of the mountain exude wisps of smoke from chimneys. The tranquility and leisureliness unique to this hidden paradise make one can’t help but yearn for it!

Luntai Poplar Forest
Take in the breathtaking scenery of poplar forests, red willow thickets, reed marshes, the Qiyang River, lakes in the forest, and other enchanting views. Deep within the forest, there are flocks of goats, making the entire poplar forest come alive. It is said that if you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of wild deer, foxes, and rabbits wandering around.
