Xinjiang Climate

Itinerary
Urumqi – Burqin
The impact of fierce rivers and erosion by strong winds have formed the cliff-like Yardang landform on the north shore. The rock strata along the riverbank have varying resistance to weathering, resulting in uneven contours. Furthermore, the different minerals in the rocks create various colors, hence the name ‘Colorful Beach’. On the south shore, however, lush trees stretch into a forest, and the distant winding mountains and Gobi scenery are fully visible.
Kanas
Wake up to wait for the sunrise in the Birch Forest, then follow the border road to Kanas, taking photos as you walk along, enjoying the scenery of mountains painted with colorful forests. The stretch from Baihaba to Kanas is also a scenic belt today, with leaves of various colors displaying their beauty under the blue sky. Take photos all the way along the beautiful Altai Mountains to Kanas Lake, where the blue sky and white clouds, golden ground, azure lake, and snowy mountains create a breathtaking view.
Hemu
After waking up early, take the shuttle bus to Hemu (including entrance fee) to capture the scenery of clouds and misty seas. The shuttle bus does not stop from boarding until disembarking. It moves forward through the winding sea of flowers. The speed is not fast, allowing enough time to capture the exotic flowers and grasses and grazing cattle and sheep on the road. After a 25-minute ride to the foot of the mountain, climb up Harakaite Mountain, which is rich in plants and boasts beautiful scenery.
Burqin
In the morning, golden sunlight shines on the Tuwa village. Smoke rises from the chimneys of the log cabins with triangular roofs. Walking among them, breathe in the fresh air with the fragrance of earth and feel the pure wilderness atmosphere.
Karamay Urumqi
Today, we will visit the Devil City. The origin of the term ‘Devil City’ is due to the strange ‘howling’ sounds emitted by the wind blowing over the ‘Yardang landform’. From afar, the Wind City is surrounded by numerous strangely shaped mounds. Below are cracked yellow soils, barren and lifeless, with silence all around. It truly deserves the reputation of the ‘Devil City’.
