There are multiple ways to get to Nalati Grassland:
Self-drive: Starting from Urumqi, you can take G30 Lianhuo Expressway to G3016 Qingyi Expressway, covering approximately 530 kilometers and taking 7 to 8 hours by car.
Airplane: Starting from Xinyuan Nalati Airport, it only takes 55 kilometers and one hour by car to reach Nalati Town.
Other land transportation options: Starting from Xinyuan County, it takes about 70 minutes and 105 kilometers to reach the West Gate of Nalati; the distance from Yining City to the West Gate of Nalati is 270 kilometers, expected to take 3 hours by car; from Gongliu County to the West Gate of Nalati is 200 kilometers, reachable in 2 hours.
II. Travel Seasons
Nalati Grassland offers beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons:
April to June: The best flower viewing season, with the Aerial Grassland being known as the Aerial Garden.
July to September: The grassland is lush and green, making it a great destination for escaping the summer heat.
October to November: The Dragon Spiral Valley is colorful, making it an excellent period for photography.
December to March: The grassland is covered in snow, creating a spectacular scenery.
III. Main Attractions
The Nalati Tourism Scenic Area integrates grassland, valleys, and forests, with main attractions including:
Tianjie Platform, Nomadic Families, Tawusani (meaning “beautiful gully” in Kazakh), Tianxian Platform,沃尔塔交塔 Viewing Platform, Snow Lotus Valley, etc.
Nearby attractions also include Koksu Grand Canyon, Zhaosu Wetland Park, Zhaosu Flower Sea, Lijie, Liuxingjie, Sayram Lake, etc.
IV. Ticket Information
The operating hours of the Nalati Scenic Area are from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm, and the tickets are valid for 48 hours and allow for re-entry into the scenic area.
The ticket prices for the shuttle buses are 40 yuan/person for the Aerial Grassland, 24 yuan/person for the River Valley Grassland, 60 yuan/person for the Snow Lotus Valley, and 40 yuan/person for the Dragon Spiral Valley Road. If you choose to self-drive, the ticket price is 300 yuan/person.
When visiting Nalati, it is recommended to plan your itinerary in advance and arrange your time reasonably to fully experience the beautiful scenery known as the “Tianshan Green Island”, “Green Homeland”, and “Colorful Grassland”.
