Introduction: Kunming, the capital of Yunnan, is the only megacity in Yunnan.
Best Travel Season: March – October
Influenced by the southwest warm and wet air currents from the Indian Ocean, Kunming has a mild climate and four seasons like spring. Therefore, Kunming is also known as the ‘City of Eternal Spring’. Even though Kunming has similar temperature ranges throughout the year, its diurnal temperature variation is quite large. The diurnal temperature variation in winter and spring can reach 12-20℃. Bring a coat and sweater when visiting Kunming during these seasons. The best season to visit Kunming is from March to October, which is also the time when there are the most ethnic festivals in Yunnan and the flowers are in full bloom. However, note that May to October is the rainy season in Yunnan, so don’t forget to bring a windbreaker and rain gear.

Introduction: Chuxiong is one of the autonomous prefectures under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, located in the central part of Yunnan.
Best Travel Season: May – October
Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture is located in central Yunnan, mainly featuring mountainous and hilly terrains. It belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone with little temperature variation throughout the four seasons. The annual average temperature ranges from 15 to 21℃, making the climate mild with a clear distinction between wet and dry seasons. Most precipitation occurs between May and October each year. You can enjoy different beautiful scenery throughout the year.

Best Travel Season: October to April of the next year
Although Nujiang Prefecture can be visited throughout the year, due to the hot and rainy summer here, the stone and dirt roads built along the mountains have poor road conditions. During the rainy season, the roads are difficult and dangerous to travel on. Therefore, the best travel time should be arranged from October each year to April of the next year, especially around the Spring Festival when there are many ethnic festivals. Visitors can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery but also participate in unique local festivals and celebrations.

Introduction: Qujing is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, located in the east of Yunnan Province. It ranks second in comprehensive strength in Yunnan Province.
Best Travel Season: From January to early April each year, with the prime time being mid-March
Qujing has a subtropical plateau monsoon climate with diverse climate types. The average temperature in the hottest July is 19°C, and the average temperature in the coldest January is 14°C. The best travel seasons are spring and autumn. In summer, due to rainfall, road conditions may be poor, and even mudslides may occur. From January to early April each year, the rapeseed flowers bloom all over Luoping. It is the most suitable time to visit the flower fields and take photos. The prime time for rapeseed flowers to bloom is mid-March.

Tip: The sunshine in the Qujing area is intense, especially in the Duoyi River region where the altitude is about 1000 meters lower than other attractions in Luoping. Therefore, the climate is relatively hot. Be sure to bring a sun umbrella and sunscreen. Luoping has frequent rainfall in summer, so don’t forget to bring an umbrella.
