In mid-to-late October by Kanas Lake, the mountains and forests resemble a painted screen, with different forest belts displaying distinct layers of color, enhancing the dazzling white of the mountaintops and projecting onto the emerald-like surface of Kanas Lake, forming a dazzling picture scroll.
At this time, Kanas is a season of pure gold, with clear skies and blue heavens, forests tinged with autumn colors, and eyes filled with golden hues.

Kanas Lake
Kanas is a rare "pure land on earth" in the world. Its stunning beauty is difficult to capture with any superb photography, yet even casually taken photos will elicit praise from those who see them.
Kanas boasts the magnificent scenery of the northern lands and the delicate beauty of southern landscapes. Coupled with attractions such as the "Sea of Clouds and Buddha’s Light", "Color-Changing Lake", "Floating Wood Causeway", and "Lake Monster", it has become the most alluring scenery in Xinjiang!
It is located about 10 kilometers north of Kanas Lake, with an average altitude of 1,350 meters. It is a series of small, curved oxbow lakes formed by the long-term lateral erosion and scouring of the Kanas River here—namely, Wolong Bay.
The water surface of Wolong Bay is calm, with slowed currents and gentle ripples floating. The water is emerald green, clear, and transparent, covering an area of about 90,000 square meters. At the center of the bay lies a sandy island with lush vegetation, resembling a giant dragon lying still in the water, hence the name Wolong Bay.
On both sides of the meandering river grow lush forests with towering ancient trees. Coniferous and broadleaf primitive forests are densely distributed on the hillsides, with peaks rising layer upon layer above the forests;
The peninsula-like platforms on the east and west banks of the meandering river are vast and flat green lawns dotted with wildflowers. Cattle and sheep graze among the flowers, creating a vibrant scene. Ascending to the lateral moraine platform at an altitude of 1,500 meters beside the east road, one can overlook the panoramic view of the meandering river, resembling a dragon coiled and playing in the water.
Moon Bay is beautiful and serene, a landmark attraction of Kanas. It changes with the changes in Kanas Lake water and is indeed a pearl embedded in the Kanas River.
Kanas Lake carves a beautiful arc here, resembling a crescent moon falling into this lush-forested gorge, captivating countless tourists.
Therefore, this is a paradise for photographers. From spring to autumn, from morning to evening, under the influence of different climates and illumination, the water and moonscape constantly change their mysterious and charming appearance, providing endless fascinating scenes for photographers.
The most enchanting aspect of Kanas Lake is its picturesque lake scenery shrouded in morning fog, especially at Shenxianwan (Fairy Bay). Rendered dreamlike by the morning mist, being amidst it feels like floating on air, hence its name.
In the early morning, light cascades down from the mountain peaks to the depths of the valley. The colorful forests are coated with a dazzling golden glow. The trees on the lake surface and both bankss appear and disappear amidst the blue-toned thick fog, with dark forests and sea of clouds creating a dreamlike and exceptionally beautiful scene.
Hemu
There is a place known as ‘God’s Private Reserve,’ and a group of people hailed as ‘Guardians of God’s Private Reserve.’ This place is called Hemu, and these unique people are the Tuvans.
Baihaba
Baihaba Village (Baihaba Scenic Area) is known as the First Village of Northwest China and the First Outpost of Northwest China. It is located within Tiereketi Township, Habahe County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang, on the border between China and Kazakhstan, just 1.5 kilometers away from East Silek, Kazakhstan, with a national defense highway connecting the two.
Everything here still retains its inherent primitive charm from centuries ago. Dominated by the Tuvans, it is located on the valley plain of the Altay Mountains, facing the mountains of Kazakhstan in the distance.
The dense golden pine forests on the Altay Mountains extend into Baihaba Village. The wooden houses where villagers live and the fences enclosing livestock are scattered amidst the pine and birch forests in an orderly yet picturesque manner, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere.
Once autumn arrives, the mountain village is a colorful blend of red, yellow, green, and brown hues, with forests painted in layers of colors, resembling a palette. Coupled with the snowy peaks of the Altay Mountains in the background, it forms a perfect oil painting throughout the year.
