Before coming to Xinjiang, you would think it was an unreachable dream.
When you truly set foot on this vast and mysterious land, you think you have mistakenly entered a colorful fairy tale world.
First Stop: Nature’s Palette – Wucaicheng
Second Stop: The Town Hidden in the Birch Forest – Keketohai
Third Stop: Stories in the Canyon – Irtysh
Irtysh Grand Canyon, with rivers, canyons, villages, forests, strangely shaped rocks…
I watched the morning light scatter across the entire hillside, thinking it would be warm, but the deeper I walked into the峡谷, the colder I felt.
The Irtysh River winds through the峡谷 (gorge). Because the峡谷 is relatively quiet, even the slightest sound is amplified. With every step you take, the sound of clear flowing water echoes in your ears.
Fourth Stop: Reeds in the Mist – Kekesuli
The Chinese characters ‘Kekesuli’ combined together do have a certain charm. With just one character different from ‘Kekexili’ in Qinghai Province, it lacks a bit of wildness but gains a bit more poetic sentiment.
Fifth Stop: European-style Charm – Burqin
Sixth Stop: Frolic in the Forest – Hemu
Hemu Village is the residence of the Tuwa people. The village is still a distance away from the ticket office of the scenic area, and you need to take a bus to enter.
Seventh Stop: Over Mountains and Hills to Meet You – Kanas
