Xinjiang Tourism Day falls on May 19th of each year, when a series of cultural and tourism promotion activities are held in Xinjiang.
Xinjiang Tourism Day refers to the celebration of ‘5·19 China Tourism Day’ in Xinjiang. On this day, various regions in Xinjiang will organize colorful cultural tourism activities around specific themes, aiming to stimulate tourism consumption, activate the tourism market, and promote Xinjiang’s natural scenery and cultural customs.
During the 2024 Xinjiang Tourism Day, Xinjiang held 286 cultural tourism activities and launched 311 benefits for the people, including discounts on scenic spot tickets, consumption vouchers, group packages, special prices for hotels and homestays, and other preferential measures.
The main venue activities were held at Baisha Lake Scenic Area in Aktao County, Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture, with the theme of ‘Pamir’s Appointment’. Various main and supporting activities were carried out, such as the ‘Kizilsu’s Gift, Praising Xinjiang’ influencers’ Kunlun exhibition tour and the starting ceremony of the Tarim Rally Kizilsu segment.
Furthermore, a series of activities were also held in the ancient city of Wensu County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, highlighting the ‘Duolang·Qiuci’ regional culture and reflecting the cultural diversity and unity of Xinjiang.
In addition to the main venue activities, various prefectures and cities in Xinjiang have also held a number of special cultural tourism promotion activities before and after ‘5·19 China Tourism Day’, such as the ‘Experience Chinese Culture, Enjoy a Wonderful Journey’ event held by Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, the ethnic minority sports meeting held by Jinghe County, and the premiere ceremony of a large-scale stage performance held by Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture.
These activities not only enrich the content of Xinjiang Tourism Day but also further demonstrate the unique charm of Xinjiang’s human and natural resources.
