The first tourist special train from Zhejiang to southern Xinjiang is named "Poetic Zhejiang – Aksu".?
The special train departed from Hangzhou on July 23, 2017, bound for Aksu, Xinjiang, which is known as the "Hometown of Melons and Fruits, Jiangnan Beyond the Great Wall". This is an innovative measure by Zhejiang Province to implement the work plan proposed at the Second Forum on Work Relating to Xinjiang of mobilizing the entire country to further promote the paired assistance to Xinjiang, as well as the national tourism assistance to Xinjiang conference’s proposal of "sending tourist sources to Xinjiang, providing industrial assistance to Xinjiang, and providing talent assistance to Xinjiang", and to implement the "Belt and Road" initiative?
The "Poetic Zhejiang – Aksu" tourist special train has a total travel time of about 16 days and covers a distance of 10,000 kilometers. It stops in cities such as Xi’an, Xining, Aksu, Urumqi, and Dunhuang along the way, visiting major attractions such as Qinghai Lake, Ta’er Monastery, Tomur Grand Canyon of Tianshan Mountains, Heavenly Lake of Tianshan Mountains, Turpan, and Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang. The special train uses a new 25B air-conditioned train with 14 soft sleeper carriages. The first group of tourists numbered around 500, with a unified price of 5780 yuan per person?
