In the early spring of 2025, I embarked on a journey to Xinjiang, choosing a chartered car as the main mode of transportation. This not only allowed me to visit this vast land at will but also enjoyed the comfort and convenience of stopping whenever I wanted.?
Journey Planning?
Before departing, I carefully studied the major attractions in Xinjiang and planned a route covering the main attractions of northern and southern Xinjiang based on my time and interests. Finally, I chose a circular route starting from Urumqi, passing through Ili, Altay, Kanas, Turpan, and returning to Urumqi.?
Chartered Car Experience?
After comparing and communicating with multiple sources, I finally chose an experienced driver. He not only has superb driving skills but is also very familiar with the road conditions and attractions in Xinjiang. During the trip, he not only served as a tour guide but also provided us with many practical suggestions and help.?
The advantage of chartering a car is that we can freely arrange our itinerary without being limited by the fixed tour group schedule. Whether it’s the sunrise in the morning or the sunset in the evening, we can stop and admire them anytime, enjoying the beauty of nature to our heart’s content. In addition, the driver was very thoughtful and prepared hot water and snacks for us, making the journey more comfortable and enjoyable.?
Impression of Attractions?
In Ili, we visited Sayram Lake and Guozigou Bridge. The picturesque scenery was breathtaking. The water of Sayram Lake was clear and bottomless, surrounded by mountains, as if we were in a natural painting. Guozigou Bridge, with its majestic and spectacular appearance, spans the valley, making one marvel at human wisdom and courage.?
In the Altay region, the beauty of Kanas Lake is enchanting. The lake water is as green as jade, with surrounding mountains reflected in it, like a fairyland. We also took a boat tour of the lake, experiencing the mystery and beauty of Kanas Lake up close.?
In Turpan, we tasted the local famous grapes and Hami melons. The sweet taste is still lingering in my memory. In addition, we visited Flaming Mountain and Kumtag Desert, experiencing the unique geographical environment and climatic conditions of Xinjiang.?
Food Experience?
The cuisine in Xinjiang was also a highlight of this trip. We tasted authentic mutton skewers, baked buns, hand-seized rice, and other delicacies. The rich aroma and unique taste are still unforgettable to this day. By Kanas Lake, we also tried a cold-water fish banquet. The fish was tender and delicious, with a unique flavor.?

This trip to Xinjiang made me deeply feel the vastness and beauty of this land. The chartered car allowed me to visit various attractions at will and enjoy every moment of the journey to my heart’s content. At the same time, I met many new friends and spent many unforgettable times together. Xinjiang, this distant and mysterious land, conquered me with its unique charm, making me look forward to the next reunion.?
