This is the route taken by most travelers. It is most beautiful from September to mid-October. Among them, Kashgar-Karakul Lake can be done as a one-day round trip, Kashgar-Taxkorgan County can be done as a two-day round trip, and Kashgar-Hongqilapu can also be done as a two-day round trip but it will be very tight. A tourist visa is required for Taxkorgan County-Hongqilapu. It is recommended to choose the best season and try to view and take pictures of the picturesque scenery during sunny sunrises and sunsets.
4: One-day tour of Kashgar-Oytag Glacier and Forest.
It is also a regular route. You can either make a round trip in one day, or include it in the Kashgar-Pamirs route but it will be quite rushed. The natural landscapes are dominated by primitive forests, icy peaks and snowy ridges, and glacier waterfalls. The scenery has distinct layers. During the hot summer, you can witness avalanches. It is recommended to visit during the warmer seasons. Bring along a telescope so that you can catch an avalanche and see the waterfall when it has a large flow.
5: A one-day tour of Tashkurgan County – Princess Castle. Few tourists take this route due to time constraints. A round trip from Tashkurgan County to Princess Castle must be done in one day.
6: A three-day round-trip tour from Tashkurgan County to Datong Township, a hidden paradise. It’s an unconventional route and an extremely beautiful virgin tourist destination. It’s rich in various types of jade. It’s a dream for many travelers but rarely traveled due to road and time constraints. Preparation for hardship and a relaxed mindset is recommended. The road is very difficult, and an SUV is a must.

This is a route taken by some self-guided hikers. It perfectly reflects the Uyghur folk original Dolan cultural life. The high-pitched, passionate, rugged, and uninhibited original Dolan 麦西来甫 (a traditional Uyghur folk dance), Mukam, and Dolan dance (a dance that portrays labor processes) are performed to the fullest extent, making people overjoyed and excited. Farmer paintings with exaggerated colors, distant artistic conception, and heavy brushwork showcase prominent ethnic characteristics and simple beauty. It is recommended for travelers who love to deeply understand ethnic customs.
9: A two-day tour of Kashgar – Shache – Makaiti – Kashgar.

10: A one-day tour of the last sunset in western China and the Kyrgyz ethnic customs.
Route: Kashgar – Tugart Trade Port – Wuqia County – The First Township in Western China (Jigen Township) – Fossil Seashell Mountain – The First Village in Western China – Irkeshtam Trade Port.
This is a route taken by some hikers. Among them, the last sunset in western China offers extremely beautiful and spectacular views to capture. The First Village in Western China allows you to explore the extremely primitive and unsophisticated Kyrgyz tribe, which has deep ties with the Han people and looks exactly the same as them. Along the way, you’ll see various strangely-shaped wind-eroded mushrooms and wind-eroded castles on windward rock walls, Danxia landforms, thousand-year-old poplar trees, the peaceful grassland of Jiasi Village, etc. It’s very spectacular and magical. Reaching the western tip of China’s territory, this is a virgin tourist route that has not been commercially polluted at all.
